Drew Barrymore has two daughters with her former husband, art investor Will Kopelman: Olive, born September 26, 2012, and Frankie, born April 22, 2014. As of October 4, 2026, Olive is 14 and Frankie is 12.
Who are Drew Barrymore’s daughters?
Olive Barrymore Kopelman is the older daughter, and Frankie Barrymore Kopelman is the younger. Barrymore and Kopelman announced Frankie’s birth in April 2014 as the arrival of Olive’s “new little sister,” according to TIME’s contemporaneous report. Parade’s family profile reports Olive’s birth date and identifies Kopelman as the father of both girls.
| Daughter | Birth date | Age on October 4, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Olive Barrymore Kopelman | September 26, 2012 | 14 |
| Frankie Barrymore Kopelman | April 22, 2014 | 12 |
Ages change over time; the birth dates are the stable reference.
Who is their father, and what has Barrymore said about co-parenting?
Barrymore married Will Kopelman in 2012, and the couple separated in 2016, according to Parade. Barrymore has publicly described continuing to raise the girls with Kopelman. In a 2025 interview with AARP, she also spoke positively about Kopelman’s wife, Allie Michler, as a stepmother. Those comments reflect Barrymore’s public account, not a complete picture of the family’s private arrangements.

What has Barrymore shared about raising Olive and Frankie?
Privacy and family life
Barrymore has said she is protective of her daughters’ privacy. In her 2025 AARP interview, she said, “They’re not on Instagram, they’re not up for grabs.” She also described talking openly with them and enjoying humor and music together. Her stated parenting priorities include teaching them to be kind, safe, and accountable.
Giving a child space when she is upset
In a 2025 report, The Independent recounted Barrymore’s story about asking psychologist Aliza Pressman for help when Olive was upset. Barrymore said her instinct was to fix the problem, but Olive did not want that in the moment. The advice she recalled was to let Olive know she was available, then step away and take a breath. It is one parent’s account of a situation that helped her; it should not be read as a universal rule for handling a child’s distress.

A reported conversation about clothes and the past
In a 2024 conversation with Christina Aguilera, Barrymore told an anecdote about a daughter asking to wear a crop top and pointing out that Barrymore had posed for Playboy. ABC News / Good Morning America reported the exchange. It is a specific family anecdote, not evidence of either daughter’s wider preferences or views.

Reliable public accounts establish the sisters’ names, birth dates, parentage, and some comments Barrymore has chosen to share about parenting.
