Spoilers for the series finale. Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 20, “Maximum,” is the anime’s final episode—not a setup for a later battle. The heroes defeat Third Eye Gomah by destroying the Evil Third Eye, but Goku and Vegeta do not fuse in the battle described in Crunchyroll’s recap. The finale instead closes with a comic return to the bug shop.
Is Episode 20 the final episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA?
Yes. “Maximum” is the series finale. The official Dragon Ball announcement set its Japanese air date for February 28, 2025, and framed the episode as the payoff to the conflict with King Gomah. The official announcement recounts how Gomah obtained the Evil Third Eye in Episode 16 and became Third Eye Gomah, interrupting Goku’s fight with Majin Duu. The group struggled against him, and Goku revealed Super Saiyan 3 at the end of Episode 17.

How does the final battle with Gomah end?
Goku’s powerful attack does not defeat Gomah. As Crunchyroll’s Episode 20 recap describes it, the Third Eye lets Gomah heal and repel the group’s attacks. The turning point comes when Majin Kuu hits Gomah with Arinsu’s spellbook, knocking the eye loose. Glorio then destroys it. Gomah returns to his small size, and the group celebrates.
Do Goku and Vegeta fuse in Episode 20?
No Goku–Vegeta fusion is reported in Crunchyroll’s recap of the finale. The eye’s ability to keep Gomah healing and the group’s struggle against him may lead viewers to expect a last-resort transformation, but the reported solution is Majin Kuu dislodging the eye and Glorio breaking it. The fusion is an expectation the episode does not fulfill, not a confirmed part of the final battle.

What happens in the final bug-shop scene?
After the battle, the group returns to the bug shop. The shopkeeper explains the bugs, and Bulma considers buying them. Then the characters see multiple Third Eyes in a bowl. The sight turns the eye’s earlier air of extraordinary rarity into a final gag; it does not, by itself, answer every question about the Evil Third Eye’s origins or lore.
