What Don Mancini said in the 2024 interview
In an interview published April 9, 2024, by Gizmodo’s io9, Mancini was asked about rumors of another Chucky movie. He answered: “Very little. Really, I can’t really say anything more. It’s like very early days of of talks, but it’s an exciting, exciting enterprise.” His wording indicated discussions, not an approved production.
The interview appeared as the second half of season three was about to return. At the time, the article said new episodes would air weekly on USA and Syfy from April 10 through May 1, 2024, with next-day streaming on Peacock. Those details describe the 2024 schedule, not today’s streaming availability.
How a film might fit the TV series
Mancini said he hoped the series would get another season and wanted future films and television episodes to fit the franchise’s continuity. “My plan is to have it all make sense in terms of the continuity and the overall mythology of the world we’re building; we won’t contradict anything,” he said.

Asked whether a theatrical movie might continue the TV story, he kept the answer open. He suggested it could follow a fourth season if one happened, and alluded to “an even trickier way that it works,” but did not explain further. That was a tease about possible continuity, not a plot synopsis or confirmation that season four would be made.
Mancini also described the show as working in a “slightly heightened world,” with the stylized quality of the puppet contributing to its uncanny effect. Those remarks concern his approach to the series; they do not establish the tone of the forthcoming film.
