Yes. Restream’s Pre-recorded livestream workflow lets you upload or select a video, set a loop count, schedule the event, and send it to YouTube without OBS running. The event airs automatically at the scheduled time. Looping is a paid feature: Restream’s scheduling guide identifies its Marathon and Media add-on plans as eligible, so check Restream’s current plan details before subscribing.
How Restream’s video looping works
Restream delivers the prerecorded video as a YouTube livestream event. For a single video, you can set up to 10 repetitions; Restream says the looping stream can run for up to 40 hours, with all repetitions delivered as one event. These are Restream Help Center limits stated in its article published March 11, 2026.
Looping is not the same as an endless 24/7 broadcast: the documented loop count and 40-hour maximum limit the event. Restream supports playlists for sequencing multiple videos, but its Help Center says playlists cannot currently be looped. Its suggested workaround is to duplicate playlist entries, up to a maximum of 40 videos.
What you need before scheduling
- A Restream account and a plan that includes looping. Restream’s scheduling guide names the Marathon and Media add-on plans; plan names, availability, and pricing can change, so verify current details with Restream.
- A YouTube channel connected as an event destination, with live streaming enabled.
- A video that meets Restream’s upload requirements: MP4, MOV, M4V, or MKV container; H.264 video; AAC audio; and a keyframe interval of 2.
Restream recommends Full HD 1080p (1920×1080), 30 or 60 FPS, and constant bitrate (CBR). Its requirements page says 4K can work where the destination supports it. It also recommends adding 15–20 seconds of material at the beginning and end of the video to reduce the chance that destination processing cuts off important content.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For first-time YouTube live streaming, Restream’s YouTube guide says channel activation requires phone verification and a 24-hour wait. Allow for that before scheduling an event close to a deadline.
Schedule a looping video to YouTube
- From the Restream home screen, select Pre-recorded livestream, then Video.
- Choose a video from Uploads or Recordings, or upload a file. Restream also describes importing videos from Descript, Google Drive, or Dropbox, and uploading from desktop or mobile.
- Enter the event details and choose the date and time. You can schedule the event in advance; Restream says it will air automatically, so you do not need to start OBS or take action at airtime.
- Set the optional loop count for the single video. Keep Restream’s stated limit of 10 repetitions and 40 hours in mind.
- Select YouTube among the event’s destinations, then create the event. Confirm that the correct YouTube channel is connected and that live streaming is enabled.
Single video or playlist?
| What you want to air | Restream option | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| One video repeated several times | Use the single-video loop setting. | Up to 10 repetitions and a 40-hour maximum looping stream, according to Restream Help Center, March 11, 2026. |
| Several different videos in order | Use a playlist. | Restream says playlists do not currently support looping. Duplicating entries is its suggested workaround, with up to 40 videos in a playlist. |
Common problems and fixes
- No loop setting appears: Restream identifies looping as paid and names the Marathon and Media add-on plans as eligible. Check the current plan details and confirm the account has the feature.
- YouTube is missing or the event will not connect: Connect YouTube as a destination and verify that live streaming is enabled for the channel. If this is the channel’s first livestream, complete phone verification and allow the 24-hour activation period stated in Restream’s YouTube guidance.
- The file is rejected or does not meet requirements: Check the container, H.264 video encoding, AAC audio, and keyframe interval 2. Convert or export the file to a supported configuration before uploading.
- A playlist does not repeat: Restream’s documented loop feature is for a single video, not a playlist. Duplicate playlist entries if the intended sequence fits within the 40-video limit, or use the single-video loop setting when one video is all you need to repeat.
- Important opening or closing content is missing: Restream recommends 15–20 seconds of additional video at both ends to account for destination processing.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a continuous YouTube stream built from uploaded videos, StreamNeo takes a different approach: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so no home computer, OBS, or home internet connection has to stay on. It is YouTube-only and plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed.
