CBS relayed an unnamed source’s account that Marsden was “very supportive” and helped choose the baby’s name. That is reported information from a source cited in the birth coverage, not a direct statement from Marsden.
What has Marsden said about being a father?
In a 2014 interview with ABC News, Marsden said fatherhood was one of the things he was most proud of. He also described the value of returning home and spending time with his children after work. The article identified William as his son with former girlfriend Rose Costa.

In a 2018 profile for Men’s Health, Marsden again described being a father as his proudest achievement. He spoke about a close family unit involving his ex-wife, his children, and his then-girlfriend, but the profile does not specify whether William or Costa was part of that arrangement.
