Spoilers for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Mad Max: Fury Road. Furiosa has no newly filmed narrative scene after its story ends. Its credits include a montage of footage from Fury Road, followed by a very brief post-credit image of the bobblehead in Nux’s car wobbling. The montage is the main connection between the films; the bobblehead is a small Easter egg, not a new plot setup.
What happens at the end of Furiosa?
Furiosa’s journey begins when she is taken from the Green Place as a child. Director George Miller described the film as an odyssey spanning the years from her childhood to adulthood, centered on her effort to get home to the Green Place. By the end, her priorities have changed: she confronts Dementus and acts to protect the people who depend on her.
The film reveals that Furiosa plants the seed her mother gave her in Dementus. A tree eventually grows from it and bears fruit. Furiosa shares that fruit with the wives, then prepares them to escape in the War Rig. The rig’s return to service leads toward the circumstances of Fury Road, rather than launching a separate story after Furiosa. The Associated Press also reports that the War Rig returns to service at the prequel’s end.
Miller’s description of the film’s odyssey appears in his May 1, 2024, interview with ABC News/7.30.

What is in the credits, and what comes after them?
| Credit element | Placement | What appears | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Credits montage | During the credits | Selected footage from Fury Road, including older Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron, and other recognizable characters. | A visual handoff to the next film in Furiosa’s story, not newly shot connective footage. |
| Bobblehead image | After the credits | A very brief shot of the bobblehead in Nux’s vehicle wobbling. | An Easter egg for viewers who recognize the object from Fury Road; the reviewed coverage does not identify it as a sequel announcement. |
Forbes describes the clips as excerpts among the principal cast credits, while TheWrap calls them a montage that previews what follows in Fury Road. ComicBook.com identifies the final bobblehead as the one associated with Nux’s car. Together, these details explain why it is useful to distinguish the substantial montage during the credits from the tiny image after them.
Why did George Miller include a Fury Road montage?
Miller told TheWrap on May 27, 2024, that he and his team debated the choice extensively. He described the footage as a sample rather than a substitute for experiencing Fury Road itself. His reason for including it was the direct narrative flow between the films:

“These were all things I thought about. But I thought because it feels — I’m sure there are other examples but I can’t think of any — like there’s a direct flow from the end of one story into another one, I felt it was worth doing. And if you haven’t seen ‘Fury Road,’ it really won’t make very much difference at all.”
He also summarized the montage as “a sample of what happens.” Read that way, the credits do not introduce a new mystery: they show where the prequel’s ending leads. TheWrap’s account of Miller’s comments is available here.

How does the ending bring the saga full circle?
Furiosa closes the prequel’s central arc by following its heroine from the Green Place into the Wasteland, to the Citadel and the War Rig. The credits then shift from the prequel’s conclusion to images from Fury Road, where the older Furiosa’s story continues. The connection is both narrative and visual: the finale points toward the next chapter, while the montage makes that link explicit.
For a plot-focused account of the finale and the fruit-bearing tree, see ComicBook.com’s ending explanation. The Associated Press’s May 23, 2024, report on the War Rig’s return is available here.
