Spoilers through the series finale: Yes. Eleven regains her powers in Season 4 through Brenner’s Nina program, and she still uses them in the Season 5 finale. Whether she survives the series ending is left deliberately uncertain.
How Eleven gets her powers back
At the start of Season 4, Eleven still cannot access her abilities after the Mind Flayer attack at the end of Season 3. Dr. Brenner believes the attack short-circuited her powers. At the Nina facility, he guides her through traumatic memories, including the Hawkins Lab massacre, with the aim of helping her remember how to use her abilities again. Netflix’s Season 4 recap describes the process as successful.
Eleven’s restored powers are confirmed when she enters Max’s memories and confronts Vecna. Later, she reaches Max after her heart stops and restarts it; Max survives but remains in a coma.
Does Eleven still have her powers at the end?
Yes. In the Season 5 finale, Eleven uses her abilities against soldiers during the final battle, as detailed in Netflix Tudum’s finale explainer, published January 2, 2026. Her powers are not shown to have disappeared again before the story ends.

Does Eleven survive the finale?
The finale does not give a definitive answer. After the group sets off the bomb that destroys the Upside Down, Eleven stays behind and disappears with it. Mike later imagines that Kali used an illusion to help Eleven escape and live far away, but the story is presented as a possibility rather than proof.
Netflix Tudum quotes co-creator Ross Duffer describing the ambiguity: “she lives on in their hearts, whether that’s real or not”. The ending leaves viewers to decide whether Eleven survived; it does not establish that she is dead or that she escaped.
