Disney has confirmed Villains Land as the official name of its planned Disney Villains-themed land for Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The August 2026 update revealed its story and two attractions, but gave no opening date.
What is Villains Land?
Villains Land is a future Magic Kingdom land built around Disney’s animated villains. Disney first announced the project in August 2024, describing a destination with two major attractions, dining and shopping. In August 2026, the company confirmed the official name and shared more about the setting and rides. Disney has not described the land as open or announced when it will open.
The setting is a dark forest surrounding a broken Wishing Well. A mysterious figure’s evil wish has corrupted the well, and its poisoned magic draws villains who want to claim its power and establish lairs. Disney names Cruella, the Evil Queen and Dr. Facilier among those who move into the realm. Disney’s 2024 announcement introduced the project; its August 2026 update provided the latest confirmed details.
What rides will be in Villains Land?
Disney has announced two attractions, one coaster and one dark ride. The company has not released ride specifications or operating requirements, so the concepts do not establish how intense or accessible either experience will be.

Where is Villains Land at Magic Kingdom?
Disney has announced the land for Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The August 2026 announcement compares its scale to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. That is Disney’s broad comparison, not a published acreage figure or an independently measured size. The announcement does not provide a more precise location within the park.
What will the land look like?
Imagineering says its design work began with the animated films and their artists, then drew on Art Nouveau architecture in Paris and Modernisme in Barcelona. The team explored forms, color, scale and natural motifs, including stained glass and painted metal. Disney calls its mix of historical architectural elements and fantasy “Conjured Architecture.” Imagineering’s design account explains those influences.

What is confirmed about dining and shopping?
Disney says dining and shopping are planned parts of Villains Land, but the August 2026 update does not name restaurants, menus, shops or land-specific merchandise. A separately announced Disney Collector Darkness Descends Ursula doll is a Disney Villains collectible, not confirmed Villains Land merchandise. Disney announced it in 2025 alongside other products; its announcement does not establish that it will be sold in the land. The Destination D23 announcement covers that separate product news.

Disney’s August 2026 announcement gives no opening date. The project remains described as a future land, and the reviewed official updates do not establish a current construction schedule. There is no confirmed opening year to report.

Other details also remain unannounced: ride specifications, height requirements, restaurant names, queue arrangements and land-specific merchandise. Until Disney publishes them, they should be treated as unknown rather than inferred from concept descriptions or fan speculation.
