Yes, the deal was real—but it was a 2025 Black Friday promotion and is no longer available. Disney offered eligible U.S. subscribers its ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu Bundle for $4.99 per month for 12 months. The offer ran from November 25 through December 1, 2025, and expired at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on December 1.
The “price of a latte” wording was promotional shorthand, not an official plan name. The actual 12-month cost was $59.88 before tax, billed monthly. ESPN was not included.

Disney described the offer as approximately 61% off the regular $12.99 monthly price. At that comparison rate, 12 months would have cost $155.88, making the difference about $96 before tax. That calculation compared monthly prices; it was not necessarily a discount against an annual plan.

What the $4.99 plan included
The promotion bundled the ad-supported versions of Disney+ and Hulu. Subscribers could watch Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars programming alongside Hulu’s broader general-entertainment catalog, but advertisements could appear during supported programming.
This was not the ad-free bundle. Disney also advertised a separate, more expensive ad-free option during the promotion, so readers should not treat $4.99 as the price for uninterrupted viewing.
Some Hulu programming was available through a Hulu hub inside Disney+, but the bundle did not move every Hulu title or feature into one completely unified app. Additional Hulu content remained available through the Hulu app.

Who qualified?
The offer was limited to U.S. residents who were at least 18 years old and were either new subscribers or eligible returning subscribers. The stated terms excluded:

- Current Hulu subscribers
- Current ESPN subscribers
- Existing bundle subscribers
- Annual subscribers
- Accounts with a subscription pending cancellation
Eligibility could also differ for subscriptions billed through Apple, Google, a mobile carrier or another third party. Existing customers should not assume that canceling and immediately rejoining would unlock the promotion. Contemporary coverage mentioned that possibility for some accounts, but it was not a reliable or guaranteed workaround.
The most important fine print
It renewed automatically
The $4.99 rate lasted for 12 months, not indefinitely. After the promotional period, the subscription automatically renewed at $12.99 per month or the then-current regular price. Because billing dates vary, subscribers should check the billing page in their Disney account rather than assume the renewal date was exactly December 1, 2026.

- Double check if the URL/website is genuine before entering card details online. Do not provide any gift card details (example: claim code) to someone you do not know or trust. There are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.

Anyone who did not want the regular rate needed to cancel before renewal. Disney’s terms allowed cancellation, generally effective at the end of the current billing period, but did not provide partial-month refunds or credits.
The advertised price was monthly
The promotion totaled $59.88 before tax across 12 monthly payments. It should not be described as a prepaid $60 annual subscription.
It was U.S.-only
The cited terms applied to the United States. The promotion should not be presented as available in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia or other markets.

There was no ESPN
Disney offered other bundles involving ESPN, but the $4.99 Black Friday offer covered only Disney+ and Hulu. It was not a sports bundle and did not include ESPN programming.

For a viewer who wanted both services, accepted advertisements and qualified for the promotion, the offer was unusually inexpensive. It made particular sense for households combining Disney’s family and franchise programming with Hulu’s broader television and film selection.
It was less suitable for someone who wanted ad-free viewing, sports, only one of the two services, or a subscription that would not require monitoring after the introductory year. Current subscribers also could not assume they were eligible under the published terms.

Contemporary coverage from Android Central and Tom’s Guide placed the offer among the stronger streaming promotions of Black Friday 2025, although whether it was the “best” deal depended on what a subscriber wanted.
What readers can do now
The $4.99 promotion cannot be claimed today. Readers considering a current subscription should use Disney’s current official bundle page instead, where available plans and prices may change.
Do not use the old Black Friday article as though it were an active signup page, and do not assume that any current Disney bundle includes the same price, ad tier or services. The later Disney+, Hulu and ESPN offers were separate products from the 2025 two-service promotion.
