Yes. Vanessa Hudgens confirmed in July 2024 that she and her husband, baseball player Cole Tucker, had welcomed their first child. The news first surfaced after photographs showed the couple leaving a Los Angeles-area hospital with a newborn; Hudgens then criticized the photographs as an invasion of her family’s privacy.
What happened
Photographs of Hudgens and Tucker leaving a Los Angeles-area hospital with a newborn circulated in early July 2024. The Los Angeles Times reported on July 5 that TMZ and Page Six had published the images on Wednesday.
The images prompted reports about the birth, but Hudgens’s own statement provided direct confirmation. She posted it to Instagram Stories on July 4, according to ABC News.
Why Hudgens objected to the hospital photos
Hudgens described the publication of the photographs as an intrusion during a private family moment. In the Instagram Story statement reproduced by ABC News and the Los Angeles Times, she wrote: “We’re disappointed that our family’s privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time due to the greed of a long lens camera feeding the media.”

That wording is Hudgens’s characterization of what happened, not a legal finding. She added: “Despite all of that, mom dad and baby are happy and healthy.”
What is known about the child
The cited reports do not establish the child’s name, sex, or exact birth date. Hudgens confirmed the birth and said the family was happy and healthy, but did not provide those details in the reported statement. A hospital departure date should not be treated as the child’s birth date.
