The divorce was finalized in 2022, but the settlement agreement was kept out of the court file, and the available figures do not provide a verified before-and-after accounting of either person’s wealth.
What the public divorce record establishes
Brady and Bündchen’s divorce became final in Glades County, Florida, on October 28, 2022. Fortune, reporting with the Associated Press, quoted Circuit Judge Jack Lundy’s order: “The marriage of the parties is dissolved because the marriage is irretrievably broken, and each spouse is restored to the status of being single and unmarried.” Fortune’s account of the final order also said the settlement agreement would not be filed in court. The order directed the couple to comply with that agreement and a confidential parenting plan.
That means the public order confirms the divorce, not its financial terms. It does not disclose a transfer amount, an asset-by-asset division, or what either person retained. Bündchen said the decision to end the marriage was difficult and that they had “grown apart”; Brady described the decision as amicable. Neither public statement explains the settlement’s finances. CBS News reproduced their statements.
Why the published figures do not prove a net-worth loss
Annual earnings, net worth, and divorce proceeds are different measures. Earnings describe income over a period; net worth requires valuing assets and subtracting liabilities at a particular time; settlement proceeds describe what an agreement transfers or assigns. The available published numbers cannot be combined into a reliable post-divorce wealth calculation.
#1 Best Overall
| Figure | What it measures | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| $83.9 million | Forbes’ estimate of Brady’s earnings in 2021, reported by Forbes Brasil in 2022; Forbes ranked him ninth among the highest-paid athletes that year. | It is not Brady’s net worth or a measure of money transferred in the divorce. |
| $30.5 million | Forbes’ estimate of Bündchen’s earnings in 2016, as reported by Forbes Brasil in 2022; the report said this was her last appearance on Forbes’ 100 highest-paid celebrities list. | It is historical annual earnings, not a current net-worth figure or a settlement value. |
| $26 million | A property-portfolio estimate cited by Fortune on October 5, 2022, attributed to the New York Post. The report listed properties in Miami, New York City, and Big Sky; it said the Costa Rica property’s value was unknown. | It was a reported estimate at that time, not an appraisal, a final division schedule, or proof of what Brady owned after the divorce. |
Forbes Brasil’s 2022 report describes the earnings estimates. Fortune’s October 2022 property coverage gives the reported portfolio context. Neither source supplies a comparable net-worth valuation before and after the divorce.

Before the divorce was finalized, Fortune’s October 2022 report described Brady’s football, endorsement, fitness, production, and digital-collectibles interests, alongside Bündchen’s modeling, brand, and investment activities. It also reported that both had equity stakes in FTX. These details show why a simple estimate based on salary or houses would be incomplete; they do not establish current ownership, value, liquidity, liabilities, or how any interest was handled in the divorce.
Later estimates and descriptions of asset allocation do not make the confidential agreement public. The 2026 LegalClarity overview acknowledges that the precise terms were not public; its estimates and account of allocation remain secondary-source claims, not a court-confirmed accounting. LegalClarity’s overview therefore cannot establish a verified post-divorce net worth or the amount of any change caused by the divorce.

What can—and cannot—be concluded
- Established: The divorce was finalized on October 28, 2022, and the court order said the settlement agreement would not be filed publicly.
- Not established: The agreement’s financial terms, any equalization payment, a complete schedule of assets and liabilities, or a verified net-worth change attributable to the divorce.
- Practical reading: Treat claims that Brady’s net worth “will be much smaller” as unverified unless they are supported by a disclosed agreement or a transparent, comparable accounting.
