The details are easy to conflate: Lisa is shown as a future president, while Harris wore the comparable outfit as vice president at her inauguration. Similar clothing, separated by years, does not establish that the episode predicted Harris’s run or the outcome of an election.
What did the show’s executive producer say?
Longtime writer and executive producer Al Jean joined the public comparison in 2024, calling the Lisa-Harris connection a “prediction” he was proud to be part of. The remark was playful commentary, not evidence of foreknowledge. In a 2026 Associated Press report, Jean described the show’s supposed predictions this way: “Well, the predictions are accidental. We’re not from the future.”

Why the Trump reference is a separate detail
