No. The viral image claiming to show The Simpsons predicting the Coldplay concert moment is not an authentic frame from the episode most often named in the posts. The alleged scene does not appear in that episode, according to fact-checks by Deutsche Welle and Lead Stories. There is a real, unrelated kiss-cam scene in another episode—but that broad resemblance does not make the circulating image genuine or show that the series predicted the 2025 incident.
What the viral image claims—and what the episode shows
Posts circulating in July 2025 presented an image as a scene from Season 26, Episode 10, “The Man Who Came to Be Dinner,” and framed it as a prediction of the Coldplay concert footage. Lead Stories reported on July 21 that a TikTok video using “#simpsonprediction” had appeared two days earlier.

The episode attribution does not hold up. Deutsche Welle’s July 24 fact-check says the episode, which aired January 4, 2015, follows the Simpson family on an amusement-park visit and their abduction by aliens. It contains no scene matching the circulating image or a kiss-cam scandal.
DW also reported that AI-detection services it consulted labeled the image likely AI-generated. That is an assessment, not definitive forensic proof of how the image was made; the stronger point is that the alleged scene is absent from the episode being cited.

There is a real Simpsons kiss-cam scene—but in another episode
Season 17, Episode 22, “Marge and Homer Turn a Couple Play,” does include a kiss cam: Marge and Homer appear on one at a baseball game, according to DW. It is a genuine example of the show depicting a kiss cam, but it is not the image shared in the Coldplay rumor and does not establish a prediction of the 2025 concert moment.
Lead Stories also noted a separate 2010 episode with a Coldplay cameo. Its plot, the fact-check said, did not involve an alleged affair revealed by a camera. These are distinct references, not evidence that the viral screenshot came from an episode foreseeing the incident.

What happened at the Coldplay concert
On July 16, 2025, during Coldplay’s “Jumbotron Song” at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, cameras scanned the crowd and showed a couple embracing. The Associated Press reported that they turned away and ducked when they appeared on screen. AP said Astronomer confirmed their identities as CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot.
The camera moment and the identities are what AP’s account establishes. They do not, by themselves, establish the couple’s private relationship, so the clip should not be treated as proof of an affair. AP also reported that Astronomer placed Byron on leave while its board began a formal investigation, and later said he had resigned; those company actions do not authenticate the Simpsons image.

Why the prediction claim spread
The Simpsons has a long-running reputation for seeming to anticipate later events, and a real cartoon kiss cam makes the rumor superficially plausible. But a broad similarity—animated characters appearing on a kiss cam—is not the same as a matching scene, much less evidence that the show depicted this particular concert incident in advance.
DW quoted creator Matt Groening speaking generally about the phenomenon of supposed predictions: “We’ve done so many jokes over the many seasons that we’ve been on the air that eventually we’re going to get something right,” he said. DW reported that he added the predictions are not intentional. The remark was not a response to this specific Coldplay rumor.
