Not on her own account, according to contemporaneous reporting. In May 2024, a classmate posted a high-school commitment-day TikTok showing Suri Cruise in a Carnegie Mellon University sweatshirt. News outlets treated the sweatshirt as evidence that she planned to attend CMU in Pittsburgh; later reports identified the school as her college destination.
What did the TikTok show?
CBS Pittsburgh reported that a TikTok posted on May 20, 2024, by an account identified as belonging to classmate Maia Wong was captioned “LaG commitment day.” The video showed graduating students celebrating where they planned to go to college, including Cruise wearing a Carnegie Mellon sweatshirt. The station’s June 7 report said Cruise was then an 18-year-old graduating senior at New York City’s LaGuardia High School. CBS Pittsburgh’s report did not establish a major and said the university had not responded to its request for comment.
The clip was therefore a classmate’s post, not a TikTok announcement Suri made herself. The sweatshirt was the basis for identifying Carnegie Mellon as her likely college choice.
Was Carnegie Mellon later reported as her destination?
Yes. In August 2024, Sky TG24 reported that Katie Holmes had spoken to Town & Country about her daughter leaving for college and identified Carnegie Mellon as the destination. That was a later media report, rather than a statement from Suri about the TikTok. Sky TG24’s account reports Holmes’s comments secondhand.

In a July 28, 2026, report, The Daily Beast said Cruise attended CMU and studied fashion, citing Page Six and public-record reporting. Those details should be attributed to that report: the available coverage does not include an official university confirmation of her enrollment or major, or a direct statement from Suri. The Daily Beast’s report is the later source for the attendance and fashion-study claims.
Can you still watch the original video?
The Independent reported on June 9, 2024, that the classmate’s video had since been made private. Its account also described students showing college sweatshirts and Cruise wearing a red Carnegie Mellon sweatshirt. The reporting does not establish that the clip remains publicly available or identify the exact garment design or seller. The Independent’s report describes the clip after it became private.
