There is no confirmed announcement that Square Enix ended a relationship with Sweet Baby Inc. September 2024 reporting said the consultancy’s public client list no longer included Square Enix, after an archived version had listed it earlier that summer. That suggests a change to the listing; it does not establish that a contract was terminated or explain why.
What does the report say Square Enix did?
On September 25, 2024, Bounding Into Comics reported that Square Enix had disappeared from Sweet Baby Inc.’s public client list. The report said an archived version of the consultancy’s website showed Square Enix among its clients as recently as August, while the displayed list no longer included it by September 24.

That is evidence of an apparent change in a public listing—not confirmation that Square Enix “axed” the consultancy. The available report does not establish whether work had already ended, whether a contract was active when the listing changed, or what prompted the change. Neither company is reported to have publicly confirmed a termination or given a reason.
What did Sweet Baby Inc. reportedly do on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?
The reported contribution was limited to particular writing and text work, not authorship of the game’s full story. In a March 6, 2024 Kotaku interview, Sweet Baby Inc. CEO Kim Belair described the consultancy’s work as taking place after the story had been written. Kotaku reported that the work included in-game advertisements, audio logs, and non-player-character dialogue, often called “barks.”

In a February 12, 2024 Forbes report, former Rocksteady developer Del Walker also described consultation on script dialogue and said the story was largely complete before the consultancy joined. Walker’s account is not a formal project credit list, and neither account supports attributing the entire plot—or the game’s reception—to Sweet Baby Inc.
What does Square Enix’s diversity policy establish?
Square Enix Holdings’ Code of Conduct says the group respects and fosters diversity across nationality, race, religion, thought and creed, age, gender, sexual orientation, physical condition, and other characteristics. That is company-wide policy context. It does not confirm whether Sweet Baby Inc. was retained, dismissed, or removed from a website listing.

Did Square Enix address the relationship?
A June 2024 report said a shareholder asked Square Enix about Sweet Baby Inc. and characterized company president Takashi Kiryu’s response as indirect. That account does not provide an official transcript adequate to verify the exchange as a verbatim statement, and it is not confirmation that the relationship ended.
