Two separate stories appear to have been conflated: Christopher Uckermann described a private dinner with all six members on December 21, 2019, while a May 2024 report covered fan speculation—not confirmation—that some members attended Maite Perroni’s daughter’s birthday party.
What is confirmed—and what is not
The claim combines two events separated by more than four years. Uckermann’s account supports the 2019 dinner as a real gathering. The 2024 birthday-party story, by contrast, reported fans’ theory based on social-media clues and said there was no member-posted record confirming the gathering. Neither account establishes that the members traded pointed messages or that any meeting followed such an exchange.
| Claim or event | What the reporting establishes |
|---|---|
| Private dinner, December 21, 2019 | Uckermann said all six members met for dinner after years without seeing one another. He said Alfonso Herrera invited them and there was no expectation of a musical reunion. Infobae, January 27, 2020 |
| Possible birthday-party gathering, reported May 14, 2024 | Fans speculated that members might have attended Maite Perroni’s daughter’s first-birthday party, comparing similar-looking photos and background details. The report said no post from a member proved the possible gathering. POPLINE, May 14, 2024 |
| Members exchanged “subtle digs” | Not established by the cited reports; the 2024 story describes speculation and controversy, not verified directed barbs. POPLINE, May 14, 2024 |
The confirmed gathering was a 2019 dinner
Uckermann said the six members had not seen one another for 11 or 12 years and felt it was time to meet. He also explained why they kept the dinner separate from reunion talk: they did not want people to assume a musical comeback or add noise to their individual careers.
In the account reported by Infobae, Uckermann said Herrera called and invited them to dinner so they could talk and spend time together “sin expectativa alguna”—without expectations. Infobae reported that the dinner remained private until the members posted a photo, and that RBD producer Pedro Damián learned about it afterward.

Las Estrellas also reported Uckermann’s description of the group’s relationships: they had not ended on bad terms, he said, and mutual respect had helped the group work together. That is his account of their dynamic, not evidence about the later birthday-party rumor. Las Estrellas, January 26, 2020
Why fans suspected a 2024 gathering
In May 2024, POPLine described fans connecting posts by Anahí and Dulce María with the possibility that RBD members had been together at Perroni’s daughter’s first-birthday celebration. The posts showed similar-looking floral surroundings, and fans interpreted background audio and images as clues.

Those details prompted speculation, but they did not confirm who attended the party. POPLine said no member had posted a record proving that the possible gathering took place. The report also does not verify a meeting’s purpose or connect it to any alleged exchange of indirect messages.
How the headline can mislead
“Met in secret” can sound like a confirmed account of the 2024 rumor, while the available evidence points to a different confirmed private gathering: the 2019 dinner. And “exchange subtle digs” presents a motive and sequence the reporting does not establish. The careful distinction is that the dinner happened in 2019; the later party attendance was a fan theory; the alleged barbs remain unverified.

RBD’s music is separate from the meeting claims
Infobae reported that RBD released six studio albums during its original run. That fact does not establish a reunion plan: Uckermann specifically said the 2019 dinner was not organized with a musical comeback in mind. The cited reports do not confirm a particular CD edition or its current availability.
