No public evidence in the cited reports establishes that Lady Gaga pressured the law firm representing Sean “Diddy” Combs to drop him. The firm denied that client pressure prompted its decision, saying its partners had decided months earlier to part ways with Combs. Gaga’s team also denied her involvement, according to India Today.

What was reported about Lady Gaga and Diddy’s lawyers?

The firm at the center of the June 2024 report was Grubman, Shire, Meiselas & Sacks, which represented Combs. NewsNation first reported the allegation, later recounted by OK! and Hindustan Times, that Gaga had threatened to leave the firm if it continued representing him. That was a reported allegation, not an established account of what happened.

On June 29, 2024, OK! reported the firm’s denial, citing a statement obtained by Page Six, and noted NewsNation’s earlier report of alleged pressure. India Today and Hindustan Times published further accounts the following day.

How did the firm respond?

An unnamed spokesperson for Grubman, Shire, Meiselas & Sacks said the partners had made the decision to part ways with Combs months earlier and denied that client pressure caused it. As quoted by India Today and OK!, the spokesperson said: “The decision to part ways with Mr. Combs was proactively made by the partners in the firm a number of months ago as they felt it was the right thing to do,” and added, “The report that the decision was the result of client pressure just isn’t true.”

India Today also reported that Gaga’s team denied she was involved. The cited coverage does not include a direct statement from Gaga, and it does not independently establish how the firm reached its internal decision.

What the reports establish—and what they do not

  • The firm said its partners had decided months before the June 2024 reports to stop representing Combs.
  • The allegation that Gaga threatened to leave the firm was reported by NewsNation and repeated in later coverage; the firm denied that client pressure was the reason for its decision.
  • Gaga’s team denied involvement, according to India Today. The reports cited here do not establish that she issued an ultimatum.

A separate September 2026 report concerned attorneys seeking to withdraw from a Combs civil defamation case. That later development involved a different legal matter and should not be confused with the 2024 departure from Grubman, Shire, Meiselas & Sacks.
