Did Kim Porter write Kim’s Lost Words?
Her children say she did not. In a joint statement reported by the Associated Press on September 25, 2024, Quincy Brown, Christian Combs, Jessie Combs, and D’Lila Combs said: “Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves.” This is the family’s collective denial; it is not a statement from one child speaking individually. The book, Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice, From the Other Side…, was independently published on Amazon in early September 2024 and presented by its publisher as based on Porter’s diary or notes. What did the publisher say about the material?
Publisher Todd Christopher Guzze, who used the name Chris Todd, told the Associated Press that people close to Porter and Sean “Diddy” Combs had supplied a flash drive, documents, and tapes. Was the book removed from Amazon?
Amazon said on October 1, 2024, that it had learned of a dispute about the title, notified the publisher, and that the book was “not currently available for sale in our store.” The Washington Post also reported its removal. What is known about Porter’s death?
Porter died in November 2018 at age 47. The Associated Press reported that the autopsy attributed her death to pneumonia and determined the manner of death was natural. The Los Angeles Times specified lobar pneumonia and cited the county medical examiner. What did the family’s statement address?
AP reported that the children spoke amid rumors about their parents’ relationship and Porter’s death. The statement denied that Porter wrote the book; it did not itself resolve separate allegations or legal proceedings, and AP said the children did not directly address Combs’s criminal case in that statement.
