No. The viral clip does not show Justin Trudeau’s eyebrow falling off or a fake eyebrow coming loose. It comes from a June 7, 2018 joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron, and a fact-check attributed the apparent change in Trudeau’s left eyebrow to a shadow from poor lighting.
Where the video came from
The short clip was taken from Trudeau and Macron’s joint press conference ahead of the G7 summit on June 7, 2018. In the excerpt, part of Trudeau’s left eyebrow seems to shift or disappear as he looks down, prompting claims that he wore a fake eyebrow.
TheJournal.ie’s fact-check identifies the footage as coming from that press conference. Scroll.in’s contemporaneous coverage also identifies the event and the lighting explanation.
Why does the eyebrow appear to change?
TheJournal.ie compared the viral excerpt with clearer footage from the same conference. Its account says a shadow caused by poor lighting becomes more noticeable when Trudeau looks down, then fades when he faces the audience. The apparent movement is therefore a visual effect in the clip, not evidence that an eyebrow detached.

What the other evidence shows
The fact-check says the eyebrow looks normal in the clearer footage and that contemporaneous press photographs show it intact. On the evidence described in that comparison, the claim that Trudeau wore fake eyebrows is unsupported. Global News covered the episode at the time as a social-media conspiracy theory about the prime minister’s eyebrows: Global News.
The reviewed coverage does not establish how the original viral excerpt was edited, and it does not provide a technical lighting analysis by a named expert. The supported conclusion is narrower: the press-conference footage and photographs do not show an eyebrow falling off.
