Players questioned whether G’raha Tia sounded different in the English version of Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.4, and whether Jonathan Bailey still performed the character. The available reporting records that speculation but does not confirm who voiced G’raha in the patch. A perceived change is not proof of a recast, illness, or any other production explanation.
What players noticed in Patch 7.4
Coverage of player discussion reported questions about G’raha Tia’s English voice. GamesRadar quoted one player asking, “Is it just me,” … “or does G’raha Tia sound different to anyone else in the 7.4 patch?” and another asking, “Does anyone know?” Those comments document fan perception and curiosity; they do not establish a change in the performance or identify the actor behind the lines. Has Jonathan Bailey been confirmed as G’raha’s Patch 7.4 voice?
No. The sources reviewed do not confirm whether Bailey recorded the English Patch 7.4 dialogue or whether another actor did. Square Enix’s official patch materials announce the update and describe its content, but do not make an English casting announcement. The performer question therefore remains unresolved on the evidence available here.
Does the perceived difference mean G’raha was recast or that Bailey was ill?
No such conclusion is established. Recasting, illness, workload, or any other explanation would be speculation unless supported by a reliable production statement. A player hearing a difference can prompt a question, but it cannot by itself verify who performed the lines or why they sound different. GamesRadar’s account reports the discussion, not a confirmed explanation.

What Patch 7.4 adds
Square Enix titled the update Into the Mist. Its official patch page gives December 16, 2025 as the announced date; Square Enix’s North American release-day post is dated December 17, 2025. These are differently dated official items, not evidence of a discrepancy. Official Patch 7.4 page Square Enix North American release-day post
The announced update includes a continuation of the main scenario, The Arcadion: Heavyweight Division, the Mistwake dungeon, and the Hell on Rails trial. Square Enix also highlighted features such as a Strategy Board and Command Panel. The discussion about G’raha’s voice is player commentary, not an announced patch feature or official casting notice.
