No. A listing attributed to UK cinema chain Everyman sparked a rumor that Wario would appear in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, but the listing was never verified as official film information. Post-release reporting later said the rumored appearance was false.
What did the Everyman listing say?
On February 23, 2026, GameSpot reported that a synopsis on Everyman’s UK cinema site described Mario facing “Wario and Bowser Jr.’s evil alliance.” The reported blurb continued: “Now, alongside his friends and Yoshi, he must stop their plans for world domination.” GameSpot quoted the wording while making its conclusion conditional on the synopsis being accurate.
That distinction matters: the text was attributed to a cinema listing, not to Nintendo, Universal or Illumination. It was therefore an alleged third-party blurb, not confirmed plot copy from the filmmakers.
Was the listing confirmed as genuine plot information?
No. The Independent reported on March 1, 2026 that the Everyman listing had been deleted and that its accuracy was unconfirmed. It also noted that Wario had not appeared in promotional materials at that point. The Independent’s report supports treating the listing as unverified rather than as a spoiler from an official source.

Nintendo Wire also reported the short Wario-and-Bowser Jr. wording on February 20, 2026, but that contemporaneous coverage likewise concerned the cinema-listing claim, not a studio confirmation. Nintendo Wire’s report documented how the rumor circulated.
Was Wario actually in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie?
No, according to Nintendo Life’s post-release report on May 6, 2026: it says the pre-release rumor that Wario would be a secondary antagonist “turned out to be entirely false.” Nintendo Life’s follow-up is the later correction to the speculation prompted by the Everyman listing.

Does Shigeru Miyamoto’s comment mean Wario will appear in a future film?
No confirmation follows from it. Nintendo Life says Miyamoto left open the possibility of Wario appearing in a future Mario film; that is separate from, and does not overturn, its report that the Galaxy Movie rumor was false. The article reproduces Miyamoto’s longer remark in machine translation, so its translated wording should not be treated as a definitive English transcript.
The practical takeaway is simple: Everyman’s reported synopsis caused the Wario speculation, but it did not establish that Wario was in this movie. Later reporting said he was not.
