Catalog records describe different production, release, and edition contexts rather than one universal runtime. AFI identifies the film as a 1964 release, gives a duration of 80 minutes, and notes that it was filmed in Great Britain in 1963 and released there in 1965 at 70 minutes. Is this the same as The Devil Doll (1936)?
No. Tod Browning’s The Devil Doll is a separate film with a different story and source history. AFI says it is based on Abraham Merritt’s novel Burn, Witch, Burn! and follows Paul Lavond, who uses miniaturized people in a revenge scheme. TCM also connects Merritt’s novel to the 1936 film.
