¿Por qué detuvieron a Jesús Ortiz Paz?
Los reportes publicados el 5 de febrero de 2024 indicaron que la Guardia Nacional lo detuvo durante una revisión en la Aduana de la Garita Centro, en Mexicali. Según esas noticias, la sospecha era que Ortiz Paz y sus acompañantes habían introducido cannabis a México desde Calexico. Esa fue la razón reportada para la detención; no equivale a una sentencia ni establece culpabilidad. Milenio describió el operativo como una revisión de rutina.
¿Cuándo ocurrió y qué pasó después?
- Noche del 3 o madrugada del 4 de febrero: la Guardia Nacional detuvo a Ortiz Paz y a tres acompañantes al ingresar a México desde Calexico por la Garita Centro de Mexicali. Las fuentes sitúan el hecho en ese intervalo, aunque no coinciden en precisar la hora. Milenio
- 5 de febrero: la noticia se hizo pública. La cobertura informó que los detenidos fueron trasladados a instalaciones de la subdelegación de la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) en Mexicali. Milenio
- 6 de febrero: Ortiz Paz salió libre. La cobertura de La Jornada y El Imparcial indicó que el caso continuaba mientras se integraba el expediente.
¿Cuánta cannabis se reportó?
Las notas de 2024 no ofrecen una cifra uniforme. La Jornada informó que se trataba de ocho gramos, con referencia a una carpeta de investigación. Telemundo reportó menos de 10 gramos y atribuyó esa cifra a una determinación pericial de la FGR citada en su nota. Por esa diferencia, no puede presentarse una cantidad exacta como un dato coincidente entre las fuentes.
¿La liberación significó que el caso terminó?
No. Las noticias publicadas cuando salió libre señalaron que el proceso seguía en curso. La liberación del 6 de febrero no demuestra que el expediente hubiera concluido. Las fuentes citadas no permiten confirmar una resolución judicial final ni establecer el estado actual del caso.
Qué dijo Ortiz Paz después de salir libre
En declaraciones a medios reproducidas por El Financiero, Ortiz Paz dijo estar “dolido y arrepentido” y añadió: “El gobierno se portó bien”. Son comentarios atribuidos al artista tras su liberación; no constituyen una declaración oficial sobre el expediente ni una admisión de culpabilidad.
