Dinner bookings and Cocktail Hour
Dinner is offered Wednesday to Saturday, with set-menu bookings from 6pm. The official site also lists opening from 4pm until late, but the dining and reservation pages clarify that 4pm–6pm is Cocktail Hour, with drinks and bar snacks rather than the full dinner service. Cocktail Hour tables have one-hour allocations, subject to availability. Check the booking calendar for the date and time you want.

Dietary requirements: ask before reserving
de’sendent says its ability to meet dietary requirements is extremely limited. It asks guests to email before booking; advance requests may be considered where possible, but the restaurant says it cannot cater for lacto ovo (fodmap), paleo, or combinations of multiple requests. If a dietary requirement is essential to your visit, contact the restaurant directly before making a reservation and wait for confirmation rather than assuming it can be accommodated. Arrange your ride before dinner
The restaurant strongly advises guests to book a driver transfer when making a dinner reservation, noting that local partner drivers need advance notice. The restaurant does not publish current driver names, prices or availability, so ask it directly about the arrangement when you book. Do not assume a transfer can be arranged at short notice.

What to expect from the restaurant
The venue describes its food as a seasonal expression of the South West, sourced from local farmers, fishermen and artisans. It says it no longer grows all its own produce, while carrying forward the sourcing philosophy of Arimia Estate. Evan Hayter leads the kitchen; the restaurant identifies Ann Spencer as owner and Joshua Down as restaurant manager and drinks-program designer. Its story page describes an open kitchen and says chefs may bring dishes to the table when possible. The restaurant presents the experience as personal and relaxed; those are its own descriptions.
The Margaret River Region tourism listing describes de’sendent as a 35-seat restaurant and the next chapter after the owners’ Arimia Estate venture. Tourism WA’s 2026 media kit describes 35 indoor diners with alfresco options. The official restaurant news archive says it received three stars and New Restaurant of the Year in the 2025 West Australian Good Food Guide Awards. Its homepage advertises “WA Restaurant of the Year 2026,” but the awarding body and category are not identified there, so that wording should be treated as the restaurant’s own claim.
