Animation studio ufotable made a short bringing Dodgers and Cubs players together with characters from the series, while partner announcements documented related shirts and a separate Dodgers game-day hat giveaway.
What was the MLB and Demon Slayer crossover?
Major League Baseball tied the collaboration to the Tokyo Series, when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs played at Tokyo Dome on March 18 and 19, 2025. MLB announced an anime video made by ufotable as well as a collection of crossover products. MLB’s March 10, 2025 announcement described the partnership; its March 6 report on the video gives more detail about the short.
The promotion connected the series’ Japanese setting and baseball story to a high-profile MLB event in Japan. MLB’s announcement also described the manga as 23 volumes and reported more than 150 million units published worldwide as of 2025. Those figures are MLB’s, not measures of the crossover’s audience.
Which players and characters appear in the anime?
The short stages a Dodgers–Cubs matchup at Tokyo Dome. The Dodgers side features Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Mookie Betts; the Cubs side features Shota Imanaga, Seiya Suzuki, and Dansby Swanson.

He also appears as a mentor to Tanjiro, and Ohtani uses a baseball-themed “Breathing” move. The concept blends the game’s Japanese history with the franchise’s mentor-and-student dynamic.

Where can you buy an MLB × Demon Slayer shirt now?
The historical March release named MLB Shop and Aniplex Online as order channels; the July release named MLB Shop. Those announcements do not establish whether either store currently has the shirts in stock. They also do not verify an Amazon listing or identify Amazon as an official seller. Check a seller’s current product page for stock, licensing, design, size, and terms before ordering.
The Dodgers hat was announced as a giveaway at one August 2025 game, so it should not be confused with a shirt sold through an online shop or treated as a currently available retail item.
