Spoilers for the Swordsmith Village Arc. Hantengu’s four principal emotion forms are Sekido (anger), Karaku (pleasure), Urogi (joy), and Aizetsu (sorrow). When Sekido absorbs the other three, he becomes Zohakuten (hatred)—a combined form, not a fifth independent emotion split.

Who are Hantengu’s four main emotion forms?

Hantengu’s forms are manifestations split from one demon, rather than four unrelated demons. The official Swordsmith Village Arc character roster lists Hantengu alongside the four named emotion demons and Zohakuten. An official character profile describes Aizetsu as “A demon that split off from Hantengu.”

Form Emotion What to know
Sekido Anger The anger manifestation; he absorbs the other three principal forms to become Zohakuten.
Karaku Pleasure One of the four emotion demons combined into Zohakuten.
Urogi Joy The official episode 4 summary marks one of the separated demons with “Joy”; the character roster supplies the name.
Aizetsu Sorrow His official profile notes that “Sorrow” is engraved on his tongue and identifies his cross-shaped spear.

The individual emotion labels are the clearest way to distinguish the four. Official materials provide limited detail about each form’s broader temperament, so it is better not to treat these labels as full psychological biographies.

Is Zohakuten one of Hantengu’s personalities?

Zohakuten is a later combined form of the four principal emotion demons. In the official episode 7 summary, he is described as “a demon created by combining all four emotion demons into one body, marked with the word ‘Hatred’.” The formation begins when Sekido absorbs Karaku, Urogi, and Aizetsu; the official SEGA character page also describes that absorption and says Zohakuten manipulates lightning, ultrasonic waves, and wooden dragons.

For a simple count, call anger, pleasure, joy, and sorrow the four core personalities, then explain hatred as their combined form. That distinction avoids counting Zohakuten as a fifth separate split.

What about Urami?

Some secondary references identify Urami with resentment. That is a separate naming wrinkle, not one of the four principal emotion demons and not the same as Zohakuten’s combined Hatred form. The official character and episode pages cited above do not provide a Urami profile, so the resentment label should be treated as secondary-source identification rather than part of the primary-source-backed four-form list.
