Crunchyroll CEO and president Rahul Purini said the next film is actively being made and confirmed that Infinity Castle is planned as a trilogy. A reported September 2027 date is speculation about an unidentified Sony Pictures release slot, not a confirmed date for Part 2.
Is Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 confirmed?
Yes. Crunchyroll chief executive and president Rahul Purini confirmed that Infinity Castle is a three-film adaptation of Demon Slayer’s final arc, with two films still to come after Part 1. He also said Part 2 is actively in production. In an interview with GamesRadar+, Purini said: “We can tell you that it is actively in production. The studio wants to bring it to fans as quickly as possible. We just don’t have a date yet.”
That is a confirmed production update from a company executive, not a release-date announcement. Purini also described the plan as “a trilogy of movies that will be the final arc for Demon Slayer. Infinity Castle was the first one. There’s two more to go.”
When does Infinity Castle Part 2 come out?
No release date has been announced. The cited executive statement says a date has not been set, so there is no confirmed theatrical release date to report.

What about the September 2027 date?
GamesRadar+ reported that a Sony Pictures film distributed by Crunchyroll is scheduled for September 17, 2027, and suggested that it could be Infinity Castle Part 2. The outlet also reported that Aniplex and ufotable had not decided dates. The September 17 slot is therefore an inference about an unidentified film, not an official Part 2 date. Treat it as a rumor, not a scheduling confirmation.
What could Part 2 cover?
An official Part 2 synopsis, title, trailer and confirmed manga chapter range have not been announced in the sources cited here. The film is expected to continue the Infinity Castle arc, but predictions about specific events or the order in which they will appear come from interpreting Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga, not confirmed production details. Those predictions can spoil the story for anime-only viewers.
For context, Netflix’s Part 1 explainer describes Tanjiro and the Hashira being pulled into Muzan’s Infinity Castle, where separated fighters face demons including Akaza, Doma and Kaigaku. That recap sets up the arc; it does not confirm which scenes Part 2 will adapt or their sequence.
