The release dates for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle II and Infinity Castle III have not been officially revealed. As of August 9, 2026, Crunchyroll has confirmed that Part II is in production, but it has not announced a release date or even an official release year for either sequel.
The confusion comes from reports that assigned the films to 2027 and 2029. Those years were never confirmed by Crunchyroll, and the reports were later clarified as speculative.
What has actually been announced?
Infinity Castle is planned as a three-film theatrical adaptation of the final arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures announced the trilogy on June 30, 2024.
The first film, officially titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle I by Crunchyroll, opened in Japan on July 18, 2025, followed by its United States and Canada release on September 12, 2025.

The latest confirmed information about the remaining films is considerably less specific:

Why people are saying 2027 and 2029
Late-2025 reports claimed that Infinity Castle II would arrive in 2027 and Infinity Castle III would follow in 2029. Those dates were attributed to a report by The Guardian.
Crunchyroll subsequently clarified that it had not disclosed those release windows. The reference was later removed from The Guardian report. That means 2027 and 2029 should be treated as unconfirmed estimates, not scheduled premiere dates.

There is also no basis for presenting 2026 as the confirmed year for Part II. Crunchyroll’s latest official update says only that the sequel is in production and that no release date has been announced.

Ufotable’s promotional reel from February 2026 included the Infinity Castle II logo. This confirms that the sequel remains an active project, but a logo or production appearance is not a theatrical schedule.
In May 2026, Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini described the next film as “actively in production,” while also saying the company “just [doesn’t] have a date yet.” That is the clearest public status update currently available.

Do not confuse the streaming date with a sequel announcement
Crunchyroll announced that the first Infinity Castle film would begin streaming on July 28, 2026. That date applies to Infinity Castle I and does not provide a theatrical date for Part II or Part III.
A streaming premiere for the first movie therefore does not indicate that the second film is arriving in 2026, nor does it establish a timetable for the trilogy’s final installment.
The accurate release-date position
- Part II: It is in production, but has no confirmed release date or official release year.
- Part III: It is part of the announced three-film plan, but has no confirmed release date or official release year.
- 2027 and 2029: These are unconfirmed reported estimates, not official dates.
- July 28, 2026: This is the streaming date for the first film, not the theatrical release date for either sequel.
Until Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures, Ufotable, or an official Demon Slayer announcement provides a schedule, claims that the dates have already been revealed are inaccurate.
