What did Shane McMahon’s son say?
TJR Wrestling and Khel Now reported that Declan McMahon responded to the announcement with the post, “Put Shane McMahon in the Hall of Fame!” TJR Wrestling and Khel Now quoted that wording. The original X post has not been independently verified here, so the statement is best described as reported rather than confirmed directly.
The sentence advocates for Shane’s induction. On its own, it does not establish that Declan opposed Stephanie’s selection, criticized her, or was expressing resentment.
When was Stephanie McMahon announced?
Reports placed the announcement at Wrestlepalooza in September 2025. WWE named Stephanie the first inductee and headliner of the Hall of Fame Class of 2026. WWE’s announcement describes her career and selection.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why was Stephanie inducted before her father?
The documented chronology is that WWE announced Stephanie as the first inductee in the 2026 class, then inducted her that year. The cited reports and WWE pages do not explain a selection-process rationale or establish a broader current account of Vince McMahon’s Hall of Fame status. The available information therefore supports the timing of Stephanie’s announcement and induction, but not a claim about why she was selected before her father.
