Amazon announced a global Prime Video launch for March 20, 2026. That date has passed; Amazon’s post-launch viewing guide describes the season as streaming now. The gap between the first season’s June 2, 2023 premiere and season 2’s launch was about two years and nine months—not a full three years between premiere dates. Season 2 has six episodes, each listed by Screen Australia at 45 minutes. Amazon describes it as a six-part crime comedy. By comparison, season 1 had eight episodes. Screen Australia’s series record lists the season-two format; Amazon’s season-one viewing guide gives the earlier episode count.
Who is in the cast?

What to know about the wait between seasons
Season 1 premiered on June 2, 2023, and Amazon announced the renewal on July 9, 2024. In that renewal announcement, Amazon said season 1 had reached the Top 10 TV Shows in more than 165 countries and territories. That is the company’s reported reach claim, not an independently audited audience count or a viewer total. Amazon’s renewal announcement also quoted Sarah Christie, senior development executive at Amazon MGM Studios: “We are thrilled that Deadloch will be returning for a second season to give our global Prime Video customers another dose of its unique blend of Australian humour and gripping mystery, this time set against the visually stunning Northern Territory landscape,”
