Dead & Company opened its “Dead Forever – Live at Sphere” residency in Las Vegas on May 16, 2024. The Venetian initially announced 18 shows through June 22; six dates were added that February, and Sphere Entertainment later said the 2024 run totaled 30 shows. The band returned for 18 more Sphere concerts in spring 2025, but official event pages now mark that run completed. The announcements do not establish a current 2026 show or ticket offer.
How the 2024 residency schedule changed
The rollout moved through three different counts. They refer to different announcement stages, not competing versions of one final schedule.
| Announcement | What it said |
|---|---|
| February 1, 2024 | The Venetian announced 18 shows from May 16 through June 22, 2024, spread across six consecutive weekends. The Venetian’s announcement said each weekend’s three performances would have a unique setlist. |
| February 2, 2024 | Sphere Entertainment announced six added dates, listing 24 scheduled performances from May 16 through July 13. Its release also reported that the band had played more than 4 million fans across 235 shows at that point; that is the company’s cumulative figure as of the announcement. |
| December 4, 2024 | When announcing the spring 2025 return, Sphere Entertainment described the completed 2024 residency as 30 shows and nearly half a million attendees. That later release is the source for the final-run count and attendance summary. |
What “Dead Forever” at Sphere was designed to be
Sphere and The Venetian promoted the residency as a visual and audio production built around the venue’s wraparound LED display and Sphere Immersive Sound, powered by HOLOPLOT. Those are descriptions of the production and venue technology from the organizers, not independent measurements of performance quality. Sphere Entertainment’s February announcement framed the show as visual storytelling on a scale intended for the venue.
The Dead Forever Experience was at The Venetian
The concert took place at Sphere; the companion Dead Forever Experience was a separate attraction at The Venetian Resort. In an April 30, 2024 preview, The Venetian described a planned interactive exhibition spanning more than 22,000 square feet across two floors. It said the public could enter without charge, with the experience scheduled to open five days a week during the residency. The preview also outlined a store expected to carry Grateful Dead vinyl, show posters, apparel, and accessories.

The planned exhibits included a functioning, one-quarter-scale recreation of the Grateful Dead’s Wall of Sound. The Venetian said that recreation would use 500 speakers and 7,000 watts. Those figures describe the exhibit installation, not Sphere’s concert sound system.
The band returned for an 18-show spring 2025 run
On December 4, 2024, Sphere Entertainment announced 18 performances scheduled from March 20 through May 17, 2025, for the band’s 10-year anniversary. The company called them the band’s only Sphere concerts in 2025. The announcement described the dates as a spring return; it is not evidence of a later or current residency.

The Venetian’s event page now labels the 2025 event completed, and Sphere’s page labels it past. The Venetian event page and Sphere’s event page therefore document the finished event rather than a live booking opportunity. The pages do not establish a 2026 date, current ticket inventory, or current hotel-package availability.

The original 2024 announcement listed general tickets starting at $145, with taxes and fees included, and identified Ticketmaster for the general on-sale. The 2025 announcement also listed starting prices of $145 with all-in pricing. Both figures are historical advertised starting prices, not current offers or a basis for estimating what a future event might cost.

Official announcements named Vibee as the VIP concert and hotel package partner. The 2025 release described packages with a concert ticket and a two- or three-night stay at The Venetian. That information records what was offered for the past event; it does not verify that a Dead & Company package can now be booked or establish any affiliate terms.
For any future residency, compare the total cost, hotel location and number of nights, ticket and access benefits, and whether the event date is actually on sale. A package and a ticket-only purchase are not directly comparable unless those inclusions are clear.
