Dead by Daylight makes K-pop part of its horror by setting idol-industry ambition, performance and image against the game’s pursuit-and-escape format. The 2026 chapter All-Kill: Comeback expands the story first introduced in 2021, adding programmer Kwon Tae-young, a fictional virtual idol named MiNa, a new map and an update to The Trickster’s gameplay.
How the K-pop horror story began
Behaviour Interactive released the original All-Kill chapter in March 2021. It introduced The Trickster, whose real name is Ji-Woon Hak, producer Lee Yun-jin, and the fictional entertainment company Mightee One Entertainment. The developer framed the chapter as a K-pop horror story, using the machinery of idol-making as part of its fictional world rather than presenting a real music group or documentary account. Behaviour Interactive’s announcement describes the original chapter and its continuation.
The Trickster and Yun-jin Lee
The Trickster is portrayed as a K-pop idol turned killer. In his backstory, he was part of the boy band No Spin before becoming known as The Trickster. His weapon and power reflect the character’s performance persona: he attacks with throwing knives. Yun-jin Lee is a producer whose story connects her career to No Spin and Ji-Woon Hak’s rise. The game’s official Trickster character page describes his character and power, while the Yun-jin Lee character page details her connection to the band and Ji-Woon.
What All-Kill: Comeback adds
Announced on February 24, 2026, All-Kill: Comeback continues that fictional setting rather than replacing the 2021 chapter. The official chapter announcement introduces Kwon Tae-young, a programmer and businessman hired by Mightee One Entertainment to create MiNa, a virtual K-pop idol modeled on The Trickster. MiNa is a fictional character in the game’s story, not a real K-pop act.

What changed in The Trickster’s gameplay
All-Kill: Comeback revises The Trickster with a Style Rank system intended to reward varied actions and combos. Behaviour said its aim was to increase his kill rate and keep him viable. That is the stated design goal, not evidence that the changes achieved it; no measured outcome is established here.

The developer’s character page describes Showstopper as a knife-throwing power: successful blade hits build a Survivor’s Laceration Meter, and eight hits cause a loss of a health state. Treat that page as a description of the power, not a guarantee that every detail remains unchanged in the live game. For the shipped 9.5.0 mechanics, consult the official release notes; balance can change in later updates.
Who voices Kwon Tae-young?
Kevin Woo voices Kwon Tae-young and served as a general consultant on the release, according to Behaviour Interactive. Woo said, “Consulting on the Korea and K-Pop inspired All-Kill world has been a fantastic experience.” The quote describes his involvement; it does not turn the game’s fictional story into a documentary account.

What the K-pop nightmare is—and is not
The title’s shift from survival horror to “K-pop nightmare” is a tonal contrast, not a change of genre: Dead by Daylight remains a multiplayer horror game. The All-Kill fiction combines idol culture and entertainment-industry ambition with the game’s horror setting. Its characters and label are fictional, and the available official material does not establish independent reception, sales figures or a measured change in The Trickster’s performance.
