Tribute dances: standout scores and styles
Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong
Kinney and Armstrong recreated a season 16 Argentine tango. The Post reports that they earned the episode’s first perfect score for that performance, then scored another perfect mark for their instant cha-cha to Charli XCX’s “Apple.”
Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten
Maher and Bersten revisited a season 20 quickstep. Maher received a 10 from Carrie Ann Inaba and two 9s from the other judges, according to The Post.

Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach
Howard and Karagach performed an Argentine tango on a platform. The Post reports their judges’ scores as an 8 and two 9s.
The instant challenge and elimination
For the instant challenge, Howard and Karagach performed a pasodoble, receiving two 7s and an 8 in The Post’s account. The Post reports that Howard went home with low scores and fan votes. Neither it nor the corroborating PopCulture report provides audience-vote totals or the episode’s precise score-and-vote calculation, so the available coverage does not establish how much either factor determined the result.

The Post’s writer called the instant challenge a “bold addition” that “ultimately fell a bit flat.” That is the reviewer’s assessment, not a reported consensus or a statement from the judges.
