Ben Cousins, Shane Crawford and Adam Dovile were eliminated in the Dancing With the Stars Australia 2024 semifinal. Samantha Jade advanced to the finale after scoring 39 out of 40 for her Foxtrot with Gustavo Viglio. The other finalists were Nikki Osborne, Lisa McCune, Ant Middleton and James Stewart.
Who was eliminated in the 2024 semifinal?
PerthNow reporter Zach Margolius reported on August 11, 2024, that Cousins, Crawford and Dovile were out, leaving five couples to compete in the finale. Cousins and Siobhan Power received 17 out of 40 for their Argentine Tango. The report said Cousins had been exhausted after days of rehearsal; it did not provide voting totals or enough detail about the elimination formula to show why any particular contestant went home.
PerthNow quoted Cousins as saying: “It has been a leap for me to do this show, I really have had one of the times of my life,” He also reflected: “The last time I was playing in the finals, it was for West Coast,”
How Samantha Jade and the other finalists performed
Jade and Viglio scored 39 out of 40 for their Foxtrot. Margolius reported that the score matched Jade’s from the preceding week and that her partner said dancing with her felt like dancing with a “pro.” That was a reported compliment, not a formal designation.

Semifinal scores reported by PerthNow
The following totals and dance styles are from Margolius’s August 11, 2024, report. They are reported episode scores, not independently verified official records.
| Couple | Dance | Reported score |
|---|---|---|
| Ben Cousins and Siobhan Power | Argentine Tango | 17/40 |
| Adam Dovile and Jess Raffa | Rumba | 28/40 |
| Shane Crawford and Ash-leigh Hunter | Beyoncé “Single Ladies” tribute | 30/40 |
| Nikki Osborne and Aric Yegudkin | Quickstep | 35/40 |
| James Stewart and Jorja Freeman | Paso Doble | 35/40 |
| Ant Middleton and Alex Vladimirov | Dance style not stated in the report | 37/40 |
| Samantha Jade and Gustavo Viglio | Foxtrot | 39/40 |
| Lisa McCune and Ian Waite | Dance style not stated in the cited passage | Exact total not stated in that passage |
The score gap between Cousins’s reported 17 and Jade’s 39 captures the night’s highest- and lowest-scoring figures among the totals given, but it cannot explain the elimination on its own: the report does not give audience votes or the complete scoring-and-voting breakdown. For Crawford’s routine, Margolius noted that judge Craig Revel Horwood gave the couple a six and that Crawford kissed him in pursuit of a “good score.”

For Dovile’s Rumba, PerthNow quoted him describing his partner’s effort: “worked very hard on me, to try and find these emotions that I didn’t know existed,”
