Why did she release “Dance You Outta My Head”?
Janice released “Dance You Outta My Head” in January 2024 while in hospice. The Washington Post reported that the song grew from a playful moment in the car with her son, Loren, when they sang the line “Dance until you love me.”
Janice said in the Post’s January 2024 interview: “Listening to this song, ‘Dance You Outta My Head,’ is kind of a way for me to say, ‘I’m going to not think about this cancer.’” Reports described the song or her music rights as a way to provide for her son, though they use different formulations; they do not establish a particular trust or legal arrangement.
