His new Paramount deal does not mean he has left the franchise: he also said he would continue working with 20th Century Studios and Disney. But his comments are not an announcement of a new film; no specific sequel, cast, production date or release date was confirmed in the cited interviews.
What Trachtenberg’s Paramount deal covers
Paramount’s investor letter describes a three-year first-look directing and producing deal with Trachtenberg. A first-look agreement gives the studio an opportunity to consider projects under the arrangement; the letter does not say that his work for Paramount replaces his relationship with 20th Century Studios and Disney. In an interview published February 12, 2026, Trachtenberg said he was developing original stories at Paramount and considering whether the studio’s existing intellectual property offered a distinctive creative direction. What he has said about future Predator stories
Trachtenberg described himself as still working through possible Predator movie ideas, while expressing enthusiasm about discussions with Paramount. Den of Geek quoted him: “All things are true,” Trachtenberg confirms. “I’m still very much figuring out Predator movie stuff, but also insanely excited about what Paramount and I have discussed.”

Is another Predator movie confirmed?
Not by the interviews cited here. In a separate interview published February 17, 2026, Trachtenberg was asked about another project after Prey and replied, “Yeah, it’s something I’m still thinking about, yeah.” The exchange reflects ongoing consideration, not a confirmed production. Space interview

The interviews do not establish a greenlight, a production schedule, returning cast, or a release date for the next Predator film. Trachtenberg’s comments show that the franchise remains part of his plans, but a formal announcement would be needed to treat any particular project as confirmed.

The February 17, 2026 Space interview reported that Predator: Badlands was scheduled for DVD and Blu-ray release that day and discussed the disc’s bonus material. It also reported Hulu streaming in the United States and Disney+ in the United Kingdom at that time. Those are dated, territory-specific availability details, not a guarantee of current streaming access; check the relevant service in your region.
