D4vd performed at the Fillmore Minneapolis on September 9, 2025, while Los Angeles police were investigating the discovery of Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s body in a Tesla registered to him. Fans posted video of the singer tossing Labubus into the crowd; according to Rolling Stone’s account of attendees’ social media posts, he did not address the investigation during the show.
What happened at the Minneapolis concert
D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, played the Fillmore Minneapolis on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Fan-posted footage showed him throwing Labubus into the audience. Rolling Stone Australia reported on September 11 that he did not speak about the investigation during the performance, citing attendees’ social media posts. The report did not identify a specific Labubu model or establish whether the toys were official tour merchandise.
At the time of the show, authorities were investigating the discovery of human remains in a Tesla registered to Burke. The concert report captured the event as it was publicly known then; later legal developments were not part of what was known at the performance.
What authorities had said when the body was found
The Los Angeles Police Department said Celeste Rivas Hernandez was deceased and that her body had been found in the front trunk area of a Tesla belonging to David Burke. In its discovery-era statement, the LAPD said the medical examiner had not yet determined the cause or manner of death. Those were the official details available around the time of the Minneapolis concert.

How the case developed after the concert
April 20, 2026: charges announced
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced charges against Burke on April 20, 2026, under case number 26CJCF02399. The DA described the charges as allegations and said a decision about whether to seek the death penalty would be made later. Its release stated: “The charges filed in this case are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.” The charging announcement is not a conviction.
July 27, 2026: order to stand trial
Los Angeles County reported that, after a five-day preliminary hearing, a judge ordered Burke to stand trial. The County said he was scheduled to return to court on August 31, 2026. The available official update does not establish what happened after that scheduled date, so no later procedural outcome can be confirmed here. An order to stand trial is a step in the criminal process, not a finding of guilt.

Keep the two timelines separate
The September 2025 concert report described a performance during an investigation, before the DA’s 2026 charging announcement and the judge’s order to stand trial. The later developments change the case context, but they should not be projected backward as though those charges or proceedings were known to the audience at the Minneapolis show. Burke remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
