Cyprus: The Divided Island has secured international sales representation with Espresso Media International, according to an announcement from producer Nuuk TV Entertainment on 7 October 2026. The deal covers sales to broadcasters and platforms for linear television and video-on-demand windows; no consumer streaming service or release date has been announced.
What the agreement means for viewers
Espresso Media International will handle international sales of the documentary across linear television and video-on-demand (VOD), including subscription video-on-demand (SVOD), in different territories. The announcement does not identify any territories, licensed broadcasters, streaming services or consumer launch dates. A sales agreement is therefore not confirmation that the film is currently available to watch on a particular service.
A 7 October 2026 trade report on Espresso’s MIPCOM slate also lists the title, corroborating its inclusion in the sales catalogue and its programme formats: 1 × 90 minutes or 2 × 45 minutes. The report does not name a viewer-facing platform.
Who made the documentary?
David Castillo directed Cyprus: The Divided Island, and Nuuk TV Entertainment produced it. Espresso Media International is the international sales representative, not a named consumer streaming destination.

The announcement names Nikos Christodoulides, Ersin Tatar and Colin Stewart among those interviewed.

What screenings and festival recognition have been reported?
Nuuk TV Entertainment says the film was presented at Ledra Palace in Nicosia in September 2025 and later screened in northern and southern Cyprus and in Spain. The producer also reports that a Madrid Capitol screening attracted more than 1,000 people; that attendance figure comes from the production announcement and has not been independently verified here.
The same announcement reports an official selection at Altavilla Film Fest – Il Trionfo Cristiano di San Pellegrino 2026 in Italy and finalist status at Indie European Cinema & Screenplay Festival 2026 in Oslo. These festival claims are attributed to the producer’s announcement.
What the director said about the deal
“After so many years working on this project, the agreement with Espresso represents a decisive step towards bringing the story of Cyprus to audiences in many other countries. Our first selections at European festivals are also a wonderful way to begin this new chapter and to see that a story so deeply connected to a small Mediterranean island can resonate far beyond its borders,”
