Lucy, the netrunner from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, was announced as a Guilty Gear -Strive- guest character in July 2024 and became playable in 2025. As of October 2026, she is already on the roster—not an upcoming addition.
When did Lucy join Guilty Gear -Strive-?
CD PROJEKT RED and Arc System Works announced the crossover on July 22, 2024. The companies described Lucy as the first guest character in Guilty Gear -Strive- and initially planned her as the final character in Season Pass 4, due in 2025. CD PROJEKT RED’s announcement identifies her as Lucyna Kushinada, a main character in the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Arc System Works’ Version 1.48 patch notes, published August 20, 2025, said the update would arrive after maintenance on August 21 and add Lucy as a playable character. She is therefore a released fighter, not a character still awaiting the announced 2025 launch. Read the Version 1.48 patch notes.
How can you play as Lucy?
The patch notes list two ways to access her: purchase Guilty Gear -Strive- Season Pass 4 or buy the standalone “Lucy” DLC item. The notes list the August 2025 update for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows. The base game alone is not identified as including Lucy.

Arc System Works later said Lucy joined the Guilty Gear -Strive- Nintendo Switch Edition roster on December 18, 2025. That date comes from the producer’s December 2025 retrospective, rather than the August patch notes. Arc System Works’ Developer’s Backyard Vol. 19 covers the Switch Edition addition.
If you are considering a physical game edition, check its current listing for the exact included content; the official sources establish the Season Pass 4 and standalone DLC routes, but do not confirm the contents of every retailer bundle.

How does Lucy fit into Guilty Gear’s combat?
Arc System Works producer Ken Miyauchi described Lucy as a netrunner from Night City whose deep dive into the Net somehow sends her soul into Guilty Gear’s Backyard. Her fighting style draws on her monowire and hacking skills. Miyauchi says the team aimed to make her approachable to newcomers, giving her familiar fighting-game tools such as projectiles, advancing attacks, and invincible options, with particular strength at mid-range.
The adaptation also reaches beyond her moves. Arc System Works worked with Satoru Homma, Japan Country Manager at CD PROJEKT RED and producer of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The team rebuilt Lucy’s HUD with the Cyberpunk 2077 interface as a reference, created hacking icons inspired by six Quickhack types and the Short Nerve Circuit effect, and used official sound assets supplied by the Cyberpunk 2077 development team.
