There is no confirmed specification saying Georgina Rodríguez’s engagement ring is exactly 50 carats or worth $3 million. Those figures are estimates based on photographs: one specialist put the center diamond at about 50 carats, while a gemologist appraiser estimated 55–60 carats and a value of roughly $3 million. Other jewelry experts offered substantially different estimates, so the ring’s weight and price remain unverified.
What is known about the ring?
Rodríguez announced her engagement to Cristiano Ronaldo on Instagram on 11 August 2025, sharing a photograph of the ring. The Associated Press reported her caption as “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.” The image shows a large oval center stone flanked by side stones; ELLE describes the side stones as oval. These are visual descriptions, not a jeweler’s specification sheet. AP and ELLE reported the announcement and appearance.
How large do experts estimate the diamond is?
The estimates differ, and not all experts are describing the same thing: some refer to the center stone, while others discuss the ring or its likely retail offering. The figures below are opinions based on images or public commentary, not measurements from an in-person inspection or a published grading report.
| Source and expert | Reported estimate | What the figure refers to |
|---|---|---|
| Forbes México: Kristian Spofforth, jewelry specialist at Heritage Auctions | About 50 carats | Oval center diamond; Spofforth also estimated D color and VVS1 clarity or better from the image. |
| Forbes México: Deborah Villepigue, gemologist appraiser | 55–60 carats | Diamond-size estimate; she put the ring’s value at approximately $3 million. |
| ELLE: Lauren Boc, founder and CEO of Hera Fine Jewelry | 30–35 carats | Center diamond. |
| ELLE: Ann Grimmett, vice president of merchandising at Jared Jewelers | 30–40 carats, plus about one carat for each side stone | Oval center and side stones. |
| The National: Mehul Pethani of Cara Jewellers | At least 20–25 carats | His estimate of the ring’s diamond size. |
| The National: Julia Hackman Chafe | 35 carats | Her stated guess; she also guessed D color and flawless clarity. |
The estimates were reported by Forbes México, ELLE and The National in 2025. The spread does not establish a definitive carat weight. A photograph can suggest scale, but it cannot settle a stone’s weight or the quality characteristics needed for a reliable appraisal.

Why do the value estimates vary so much?
Published figures range from millions to a wide multi-million-dollar spread, and they do not all represent the same kind of valuation. Forbes México reported Villepigue’s estimate of approximately $3 million for the ring. ELLE quoted Boc giving a broad $3–5 million estimate because image quality makes it difficult to assess quality; Grimmett estimated $5–15 million depending on clarity. The National reported Pethani’s view that a ring like it might cost about $1.5 million in the UAE or $3–4 million from an international brand. Those are expert estimates and potential purchase prices, not a documented sale price or a confirmed appraisal of Rodríguez’s ring.
Price depends on more than carat weight. The diamond’s color, clarity and cut, the setting and metal, and whether a figure describes a jeweler’s retail price or an appraiser’s valuation can all change the result. ELLE’s Boc specifically cautioned that those quality factors matter and that the image limits assessment. Without inspection and reliable grading information, the dollar figures are best read as informed speculation rather than a settled value.

Is the ring’s designer or diamond grade known?
No designer, metal, or independently verified grading has been established in the cited reports. Forbes México says the maker is unknown and that speculation about Cartier has not been confirmed by a jeweler. It also says the metal cannot be determined from online images. Spofforth’s D-color and VVS1-or-better estimates are not a certificate. Forbes México describes D as the highest color grade and VVS1 as a very high clarity grade, with inclusions difficult for an expert to detect under 10× magnification; those descriptions do not verify that Rodríguez’s diamond has either grade.

The headline-style figures combine estimates that should be kept distinct: Spofforth’s approximately 50-carat estimate concerns the center stone, while Villepigue’s 55–60-carat estimate and roughly $3 million valuation are separate judgments. Other experts placed the center stone lower and the potential value higher or lower depending on assumptions. None of the cited reports provides a confirmed weight, maker, grading report, or sale price.

It is also important not to treat carat estimates as directly comparable when one source means the center diamond and another may be discussing the ring’s combined stones. Any comparison with another celebrity ring needs the same basis—center-stone versus total weight, comparable cut and quality, and a consistent valuation type. A large estimated carat figure alone does not prove a particular market value.
