Possibly—but a film is not confirmed. On July 24, 2024, Variety reported that Michael Bay and producer Adam Goodman were in talks to develop the internet animation property for film and television. That report established talks, not a greenlight, production start, or release date. The title’s “could” is the important word.
What is actually known about a Skibidi Toilet movie?
The clearest reported connection between Bay and a screen project remains Variety’s July 24, 2024 account: Bay and Goodman were in talks to develop Skibidi Toilet for film and television. The report did not establish that Bay would direct, that a screenplay or cast existed, or that a production had been approved.
Those distinctions matter. “In talks” describes a possible development path; it is not the same as a project being greenlit, filming, or scheduled for release. The sources available here do not establish Bay’s current role or whether a feature is moving forward.
How the franchise’s confirmed activity differs from a film
Skibidi Toilet began as an online animation property associated with Alexey Gerasimov, known online as DaFuq!?Boom. Since the film-and-TV talks were reported, announcements have documented other forms of franchise activity. They show expansion into licensed products and publishing, but do not confirm a movie.

| When | What was reported or announced | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| July 24, 2024 | Variety reported Bay and Adam Goodman were in talks to develop the property for film and television. Source | Reported development talks—not a greenlight or production. |
| October 2, 2024 | Bonkers Toys and Invisible Narratives announced a worldwide toy licensing deal and retail launch. Announcement | Licensed merchandise activity, not screen-production status. |
| March 13, 2025 | Scholastic announced a publishing partnership, including licensed ebooks, a collected print novel and an original coloring book planned for early 2026. Announcement | A publishing plan; the announcement alone does not confirm current availability. |
| September 3, 2026 | Cartoon Brew reported that Invisible Narratives had named a creative team for future episodes and that Gerasimov was not then involved in their development or production. Report | Information about episodic creative plans, not confirmation of a feature film. |
Why a Bay-led movie is imaginable—but still speculative
The property has a creator-originated online format and a growing licensing footprint, both of which can make a larger screen adaptation seem plausible. Bay’s reported involvement gives the possibility a recognizable name. But those factors are context, not evidence that a film has been approved or that Bay is attached to direct one.
Invisible Narratives’ licensing activity includes announced partners across toys, publishing, collectibles, apparel, accessories, sleepwear, bedding and Halloween costumes. Licensing International listed Bonkers Toys and Scholastic alongside Funko, Isaac Morris, Concept One, Centric Brands, Handcraft, Franco and NECA/Rubies. That licensing roster is evidence of commercial expansion, not a film-production announcement.

What remains unclear about the creator and the property
The relationship between Gerasimov and Invisible Narratives has been contested. A 2026 statement from Invisible Narratives, syndicated by Yahoo Finance, said Next Level Apps had agreed to abandon claims and recognize Invisible Narratives’ ownership of the franchise intellectual property. That is the company’s account, not an independent judicial finding. Read the company statement.
Separately, Cartoon Brew’s September 2026 report described continuing controversy around the creator-company relationship and said Gerasimov was not involved in developing or producing the future episodes discussed in that report. That update concerns the series’ creative context; it does not settle the status of a film project.

What to look for before calling it a movie
A trade report about talks is a meaningful sign of interest, but readers should look for a concrete production announcement before treating a film as real and underway. Useful confirmation would identify the project’s status and, ideally, its production or distribution partners. The available reporting does not establish a confirmed cast, distributor, budget, schedule, or release date.
