It was followed by a separate Halloween encore starting October 31, 2024. Both engagements are in the past, and the official announcements reviewed here do not establish any current theatrical booking.
What the 2024 engagement was
LAIKA announced the 15th-anniversary run of its 2009 stop-motion film in a June 11, 2024 release. The announcement described a special limited engagement, and Fathom’s June ticket notice confirmed the run would start August 15, 2024.

- Presentation: newly remastered 3D. The official materials use that phrase and do not give a resolution or describe the restoration process, so no further technical claims should be assumed.
- United States: Fathom.
- International: Trafalgar Releasing, whose event page also advertises the remastered 3D presentation.
- Length of run: the initial notices describe a limited engagement and do not publish a single end date for all territories.
Summer run and Halloween encore
The August run and the Halloween return were separate engagements. Fathom announced the encore in an October 4, 2024 notice, after reporting the summer result. Readers should treat the two as distinct bookings rather than one continuous worldwide run.
| Engagement | Territory and partner | Start date | Format as announced | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anniversary limited run | United States, Fathom | August 15, 2024 | Remastered 3D | Fathom announcements, June 2024 |
| Anniversary limited run | International, Trafalgar Releasing | Not stated in the reviewed Trafalgar material | Remastered 3D | Trafalgar Releasing event page |
| Halloween encore | Not stated | October 31, 2024 | Not stated | Fathom announcement, October 4, 2024 |
The format column reflects only what the notices state. Whether every venue showed the 3D version, or which individual cinemas took part, is not established by these sources, so a local showtime should be verified with the venue itself.

Reported box office
In its October 4, 2024 announcement, Fathom reported that the summer return grossed over $53 million in global box office. That figure is Fathom’s own 2024 report for the summer engagement. It is not an independent audit, and it does not cover the Halloween encore.
How the studio described the 3D presentation
LAIKA’s chief marketing officer, David Burke, was quoted in the June 2024 announcement: “LAIKA set the 3D standard with the 2009 release of Coraline.” This is a promotional remark from the studio, not a technical assessment, and it is best read as the studio’s view of its own film’s place in 3D animation.

LAIKA’s official shop carries a Coraline collection and a 15th-anniversary collection. Stock changes, and the shop marks some items as sold out or waitlist-only, so the list below describes what the pages showed at the time they were checked.
- Button Art Anniversary Poster and 15th-Anniversary One Sheet Poster: both listed in the official anniversary collection. Anniversary posters are the most direct keepsake tied to the 2024 event.
- Coraline alphabet art book: a hardcover containing 26 pieces of original artwork. The product page showed it as sold out when checked.
- Other official merchandise: the wider Coraline collection includes books, apparel, home goods and collectibles, with availability varying by item.
Third-party resellers may list similar posters, but the sources reviewed here do not verify any specific third-party listing, so buyers should confirm that a seller’s item matches the official design and edition before purchasing.
