Luke Combs and Eric Church organized Concert for Carolina to raise relief funds after Hurricane Helene devastated parts of western North Carolina. Announced on October 7, 2024, the benefit took place October 26 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. MCA later reported $24,513,185 raised “to date,” along with 82,193 in-person attendees and 7.1 million livestream views.
What was Concert for Carolina?
Concert for Carolina was a benefit show organized by country artists Luke Combs and Eric Church in response to Hurricane Helene’s destruction in western North Carolina. The October 7 announcement said proceeds would support relief efforts in the Carolinas and Southeast. Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority presented the event, and David and Nicole Tepper offered Bank of America Stadium as the venue. Eric Church’s official announcement laid out the plan and initial beneficiaries.

The announced headliners were Combs, Church, Billy Strings and James Taylor. The concert was held October 26, 2024, in Charlotte.
How was the benefit organized?
The announcement said all proceeds, including sponsorships, would be split evenly: half for beneficiaries chosen by Combs and half for Church’s Chief Cares Foundation to distribute to organizations of its choosing. Combs initially named Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC; a fourth organization was still to be announced at that point.

In its October 29, 2024 release, MCA later named Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, Eblen Charities and organizations supported by Chief Cares as recipients of proceeds from the auction, concert and livestream. The later list reflects the beneficiaries named in that release; it does not establish a refreshed total distribution by recipient.
What results did MCA report?
MCA’s October 29, 2024 release reported the following outcomes. The figures are the label’s reported results at that time, not independently audited figures or a confirmed final lifetime total.

MCA called it the largest concert ever held at Bank of America Stadium at the time. Its release also said proceeds from the silent auction, benefit show and livestream would go to the selected organizations. The event therefore reached people both inside the stadium and through its livestream, while the auction added another fundraising channel. MCA’s results release reported the figures and recipients.
Why did Combs and Church organize it so quickly?
Church spoke publicly about the disaster before the concert was announced. In a September 29, 2024 statement, he wrote, “I’m devastated by the destruction in the mountains of western North Carolina. These are our family members, friends, and neighbors.” He also said he was postponing a scheduled SiriusXM event at Chief’s. Church’s statement connected the disaster to communities he described as family, friends and neighbors.

At the event, Combs told Axios Charlotte, “A show like this usually takes a year or a year and a half to plan and we were able to get it done in three weeks.” That was Combs’ description of how quickly this benefit came together, as quoted in Axios Charlotte’s October 27, 2024 coverage.
Explore Asheville president and CEO Vic Isley told Axios, “Our comeback is coming in pockets and stages across western North Carolina.” The comment described the region’s recovery as it stood in October 2024, rather than offering an assessment of conditions today.

Can you still watch the livestream or bid in the auction?
The reported 7.1 million Veeps views describe the audience reached by the 2024 livestream; they do not confirm that a replay is currently available. Likewise, MCA’s release documents a post-event silent auction and its historical item categories, but does not establish that the auction remains open. Current access or availability is not established by the event announcements and results reporting.
