Start with the legal supplier named on your account and invoice, then check your GSTIN and billing details. The GST line alone cannot tell you which cloud service costs less: the estimate must also use the same stream runtime, resolution, outputs and delivery workload. There is no defensible single monthly price for 24/7 streaming without those inputs and current provider pricing.
Why the billing entity matters before the GST rate
GST treatment depends on the provider entity supplying the service and the tax details on your account. Do not infer the billing entity from the cloud region you selected. Check the supplier name in the account and on the invoice.
AWS India
Amazon Web Services says GST applies to AWS India cloud-service sales to customers in India. Its guidance describes 9% CGST plus 9% SGST for customers in Delhi, and 18% IGST for customers in other states. AWS recommends that registered business customers add their GSTIN and registered address in tax settings so it can issue the appropriate invoice. Google Cloud
Google Cloud documents different India GST treatment depending on the contracting entity. Customers contracted with Google Asia Pacific are described as charged 0% GST when they provide a valid GSTIN, and 18% when they do not. Services sold by Google Cloud India Private Limited to customers with an India billing address are subject to 18% regardless of GSTIN status. Google says migrated India accounts billed by Google Cloud India Private Limited are billed in INR; its migration FAQ also says customers without a Tax ID are charged GST based on the billing-address state. Make the workloads comparable
Before comparing estimates, use one shared workload description. A 24/7 channel runs for roughly the full billing month, but actual billable active time, stream settings and delivery traffic depend on the service and configuration. For YouTube-origin workflows, distinguish the cloud resources used to create a stream from any separate distribution or delivery services; do not assume a cloud estimate covers every part of the workflow.

How Google Live Stream API usage affects the bill
Google describes the Live Stream API as on-demand billing for live encoding and streaming resources. Its charges depend on active channel runtime and configured resolutions. Distribution streams are additional outputs, and active duration has a ten-minute minimum before time is rounded up to the nearest minute. Google states there is no free usage tier. For a continuous channel, estimate the actual monthly hours and include any time a channel remains active without receiving an input. Also include each distribution output in the estimate. Stop channels or distributions that are not needed, while allowing for the operational requirements of your stream.

What an AWS live-video estimate includes
AWS describes live-video architectures that can combine encoding, packaging or origination, and CDN delivery. The bill therefore depends on the services selected and how viewers consume the stream; an encoder-only estimate may omit significant components. Review AWS’s live streaming architecture and example.
AWS’s published example of $69.74 per hour is for a one-hour workflow in US-East-1 with 1,000 viewers, highest-bitrate consumption and a 99% cache-hit ratio. It is an illustrative US-region example, not an India monthly quote or an estimate of a specific YouTube-origin workflow. AWS notes that prices can change and recommends budgeting for the actual architecture.

A practical invoice-comparison process
- Identify each supplier. Check the legal entity and billing country in each cloud account and on recent invoices.
- Verify tax details. Confirm the GSTIN and registered and billing addresses saved in the account. For Google, establish whether the supplier is Google Asia Pacific or Google Cloud India Private Limited; do not infer it from region selection.
- Write down one workload. Specify monthly active hours, input and output resolution, codec, number of outputs, expected bitrate and viewers, delivery region and traffic assumptions.
- Estimate every required component. For Google Live Stream API, include active channel time, resolution and distribution outputs. For AWS, include the applicable encoding, packaging/origination and delivery components.
- Compare the same invoice elements. Record the pre-tax recurring estimate, GST line, currency and final billed amount separately. Use current provider calculators and then verify the result against the actual invoice.
- Keep tax documentation. If your business is GST-registered, retain tax invoices and ask an appropriate tax professional whether input tax credit is available in your circumstances.
Why a single monthly total would mislead
A cross-provider monthly figure cannot be established without the stream configuration, runtime, viewer traffic, delivery region, account billing entity and tax profile, along with current calculator prices. A US-East-1 hourly example cannot be multiplied into an India quote, and a GST percentage cannot compensate for unlike workloads. Build the estimate from your own settings, compare invoice lines, and recheck when the configuration or account tax details change.
