The image was described as a spoof of the 2007 comedy Knocked Up, with the reported message “Based on a true story” and “coming late July.”
What the announcement reportedly showed
PerthNow and 7NEWS said the couple shared the image on the Thursday before their 9 February 2024 reports. Both outlets described it as an imitation of the Knocked Up poster, with Marko reading an adult magazine while Kay ate pizza. The original Instagram post was not independently available for verification, so these visual details are attributed to the outlets.
The reports differ on the image’s other props. PerthNow listed an eggplant, Cheetos, Playboy magazines, tissues and a pregnancy test, and said the couple’s dog Chip appeared. 7NEWS instead mentioned pregnancy books, Tim Tams, ultrasound photos and cheese and bacon balls, and also noted the dog. Those are each publication’s descriptions, not a confirmed inventory.
Both outlets transcribed the image text as “Based on a true story” and “coming late July”; 7NEWS capitalized “Coming.”
