How the characters’ hookup happens
The interview connects the romance to “Snakes on a Plane,” an episode in Cobra Kai season 6 part 2. Kim Da-Eun and Chozen meet during a night out in Barcelona while each is looking for the kids. They recognize common ground as senseis who had been on opposing sides, then talk, fight, and kiss at a bar.

Why the takes turned funny
Hannah-Kim said the fight was rehearsed, but she and Okumoto had not discussed the make-out portion in advance. As they filmed, the takes became funnier. Director Jen Celotta wanted the pair to fall out of frame while kissing; during one take, the actors collided with a pole.

Hannah-Kim also recalled that Kim Da-Eun’s tight ponytail and hair extension pulled during shooting for over 12 hours. That duration is her account of the strain of the hairstyle during production, not a general measure of how long such a style can be worn.
