Citadel: Diana is a six-episode Italian spy-action series set in a fictional 2030 Milan. Matilda De Angelis stars as Diana Cavalieri, a Citadel agent embedded inside the hostile organization Manticore. The series premiered on Prime Video on October 10, 2024; where it can be streamed today depends on territory.
What is Citadel: Diana about?
Eight years after rival organization Manticore destroyed the independent spy agency Citadel, Diana Cavalieri is still undercover inside Manticore. When a chance to escape appears, she must decide whether to trust Edo Zani, the heir to Manticore Italy and son of its leader, Ettore Zani. The story’s central pressure is personal as well as operational: Diana needs to survive, but doing so may depend on an alliance with someone raised within the enemy organization.

The series takes place in Milan in 2030. Citadel and Manticore are fictional organizations in the show, not accounts of real intelligence agencies or events. Amazon’s official synopsis places Diana and Edo’s alliance amid a struggle among Manticore’s European families.

What did Prime Video report about the launch?
Prime Video reported that Citadel: Diana ranked number one in Italy, the United States, and the United Kingdom during launch weekend, and was among the platform’s top five titles in almost 150 countries. Those are platform-reported rankings, not independently audited audience totals. The company also called it the biggest global launch for an Italian Original on Prime Video, specifying launch-weekend viewership outside the title’s home country. The release distributed by WebWire attributes these claims to Prime Video.
In Amazon’s October 2024 announcement, the company also cited about 850 stunts across the production. It described a zip-line sequence in a preview clip as a flight of almost 450 meters; that distance refers to the sequence, not to a general measure of the show’s action.
