Poppy Montgomery stars as Emmy Jones in Christmas on the Farm, a 2021 Australian romantic comedy about a writer whose invented identity and book about farm life are put to the test when her New York publishers visit her family’s Queensland farm. The film was made in part in Brisbane suburbs and Brookfield; that production record supports its Australian setting, not a claim that Montgomery made a particular trip to Australia.
What is Christmas on the Farm about?
Emmy Jones has built a successful author persona around the name Clementine Jones and a book about Australian farm life. The book draws on journals left by Emmy’s late mother, but the identity behind it is a deception: Emmy has been presenting herself under her mother’s name.

When Emmy’s New York publishers want to experience an authentic Australian Christmas, she returns to the family farm and asks her cousin David and his husband, Miles, to help sustain the story. The situation grows more complicated when the publishers’ CEO arrives with her son, Jack, who has met Emmy before. Screen Queensland’s synopsis lays out this identity-and-farm premise; it distinguishes the author persona from Montgomery’s character, Emmy.

Where was it filmed?
Screen Queensland records “Brisbane Suburbs” and “Brookfield” as filming locations and names Hoodlum Entertainment as the production company. These are confirmed locations associated with the production; the record does not establish that the entire film was shot there or that every farm location in the story corresponds to a real-world site.
How long is the film, and what are its catalog details?
Stan classifies Christmas on the Farm as a 2021 romance and comedy, rates it PG in its Australian listing and gives its runtime as 86 minutes. Other catalogs differ: Prime Video’s regional listing gives 1 hour 28 minutes. Runtime figures are catalog metadata, so the listed duration may vary by platform. Christopher Weekes is named as director by both Stan and Screen Queensland.

Where can you watch Christmas on the Farm?
Stan’s Australian title page identifies the movie as a Stan Original and says it is streaming there: Christmas on the Farm on Stan. That is an Australian service listing, not confirmation of availability in other countries. Check the relevant local catalog for current access. Apple TV Canada has a catalog entry, but that entry alone does not establish that the film is currently available to watch there.
Stan lists 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, 5.1 audio, audio description and closed captions as playback features on its Australian page. Actual playback options can depend on the device and service conditions.
