The episode puts him under pressure during a drug investigation while its central case follows Voight and ASA Chapman probing Deputy Chief Reid’s dealings.
What happens in “Demons”?
“Demons” is Season 12, Episode 18, and aired April 16, 2025, according to Rotten Tomatoes. The official episode synopsis on Peacock and Apple TV says: “Voight and Chapman work together to uncover Deputy Chief Reid’s shadow dealings as Reid assigns Intelligence to a carjacking case.”

The story therefore works on two tracks: the larger Reid investigation and the Intelligence team’s assigned carjacking case. A recap from One Chicago Center describes Torres as coming undone during a drug investigation. That is the recap’s characterization of his thread, rather than part of the official synopsis.
Is Torres leaving Chicago P.D.?
No exit is shown in “Demons.” Torres faces strain in the episode, but the sources describing its events do not say that he quits, is dismissed, or otherwise leaves the Intelligence unit. That answers the episode-specific question; it is not a guarantee about every later appearance or season.

Benjamin Levy Aguilar plays Dante Torres, whom Universal Pictures At Home identifies as part of the Season 12 team. The series continued into Season 13, but that broad continuation does not establish Torres’s status in every later episode.
How does the episode work as a review?
“Demons” pairs a season-level institutional mystery with a more personal source of pressure for Torres. That gives the episode a useful contrast: Reid’s shadow dealings widen the story beyond a single case, while Torres’s drug-investigation thread puts the focus on the emotional cost of police work. The available episode synopsis establishes the Reid and carjacking setup; the Torres emphasis comes from the recap.

The episode’s pacing drew a mixed note from one critic. Rotten Tomatoes reproduces TV Fanatic reviewer Jasmine Blu’s April 17, 2025 assessment: “Chicago PD Season 12, Episode 18 moves its plot forward just in time, but there’s also a lot of uneasiness and missed opportunities, too.” That is one reviewer’s judgment, not a measured consensus.
