The staffing change followed a brief interim assignment for Lennox, while Violet’s promotion to Paramedic in Charge reshaped the ambulance team’s leadership.
Who is the new paramedic on Chicago Fire Season 12?
Jocelyn Hudon was reported as a recurring cast member playing a new paramedic. TVLine’s March 29, 2024 casting report relayed Deadline’s news. It does not identify Hudon’s character by name, so her character name cannot be confirmed from that report. TVLine’s casting report

The report describes Hudon’s addition as a recurring role, not a series-regular promotion. She arrived after Brett’s departure, rather than stepping directly into an established one-for-one handoff.
When did Kara Killmer leave, and what happened to Sylvie Brett?
Killmer returned for Season 12, which TVLine had identified in November 2023 as her final season. Brett departed in the sixth episode. TVLine reported her exit timing in its later casting coverage. TVLine’s report on Killmer’s final season

In the story, Brett pursued a job with the Portland Fire Department and planned to move there with Matt Casey. TV Insider recapped that setup after the season’s fifth episode on February 21, 2024. That is the character’s on-screen explanation; it does not establish Killmer’s personal reason for leaving. TV Insider’s recap of Brett and Casey’s Portland plans
How did the ambulance team’s transition work?
The shift involved three distinct changes: Lennox’s short-lived interim assignment, Hudon’s later-announced recurring role, and Violet’s new leadership responsibility. They are related parts of the staffing transition, but they are not interchangeable.

| Change | What the reporting says |
|---|---|
| Lennox | Worked alongside Violet as a possible replacement, but Boden dismissed him amid interpersonal problems. TVLine’s March 29, 2024 report describes this interim period. |
| Jocelyn Hudon | Announced as a recurring new paramedic after Brett’s departure. The cited casting report does not give the character’s name. TVLine, March 29, 2024. |
| Violet | Became Paramedic in Charge (PIC), adding a leadership role as she formed the next medic joining the ambulance. Executive producer Andrea Newman discussed the change with TV Insider on January 16, 2024. |
Newman described the season’s broader direction in that interview: “I will say that the theme of this season is change and 51 having to cope with change, both people leaving and people coming.” She also said, “What I can say is that Violet becomes the PIC (Paramedic in Charge), so she gets to be the boss, and she’ll have to form the next person who comes in.” These were Newman’s comments to TV Insider, not an official NBC press release. What to know about Killmer’s run on the series
TVLine reported on November 16, 2023, that Killmer had appeared in 193 episodes during her nine-season run at that point. That is a figure from the 2023 report, before Season 12 had concluded, not a final episode total. TVLine’s 2023 report on Killmer
